Aztec Stadium starting to take shape

Recommended Posts

I heard this structure referred to as an “on campus stadium” yesterday.

Any rumors who’ll purchase the naming rights?

Sounds like SDCCU wants to purchase naming rights again but we'll see. And OCS makes sense since it will be part of the campus. Here is the most current top view of the entire site.

It will be "on campus" since SDSU will own the entire 166 acres that Qualcomm Stadium once encompassed and most of the area will be an adjunct to the existing campus.

As to naming rights, to my knowledge that hasn't been put out to bid yet but some SD or RIverside county Indian tribe could get the nod as a means of publicizing its casino. Then a campus student or faculty group will hold a rally claiming the name is racist, paternalistic or whatever.

Either that or if AztecSU is correct and SDCCU wins the bidding war instead, somebody on campus will claim the bidding process was slanted against Indian tribes.

The only things certain in life are death, taxes and protests at SDSU.

I’m guessing going seamless w/SDCCU would be a great situation for y’all.

Nice h2o-color.  That looks more like a OSC (on satellite campus) stadium.  I went to school on Montezuma Mesa for 5-semesters & that doesn’t resemble la mesa.

Sure a satellite campus separated by a dedicated trolley about 3 or 4 miles apart.

Usually a Satellite campus is not literally in the same area as the main, let alone connected by a dedicated trolley line a few miles away. But sure whatever you guys want to think or believe is fine by me. If you don't know the definition of a satellite campus that's ok.

It’s a little over 2 miles as the crow flies.
