Hockey ticket prices are obscene. I couldn’t afford them when I lived in Denver and the Avs were winning Stanley cups.

I was looking at trying to grab a ticket for a friend for Vegas and the cheapest one for the time period we were looking was $125 and that was like in nosebleed section, we were like no thank you on that.

Hard to get excited when their playoff hopes have collapsed and you are looking at a probable off season sell off of the teams best players and the owner is talking about moving.  Plus the A’s jacked up the price of everything after Covid.  They really have not been fan friendly at all this season. Until they commit to staying and get a new ballpark built, many fans will just give them the middle finger.

Remember though is a lot of concessions are companies that signed contracts with the owners of the ballpark to operate whether it be the team who owns the ballpark or whoever owns the ballpark and like the beginning of the season Oakland wasn't allowed to sell concessions because of what California was doing;. So the prices were probably bounced up so both sides could make back some money from where they lost out but the Giants were allowed to sell concessions in a round about way

Oakland is so dumb. This is the sports team they need to keep. Football is a pain in the ass, played on Sunday, etc. But 81 games per year is an amazing thing for a downtown if done right. See China Basin in SF, see Lodo in Denver.  This would be huge for Vegas… assuming Vegas puts it in downtown and not some dirt lot in Hendo or a back lot at a casino.

I just think Oakland have taken the A's for granted saying no matter what we do, they won't leave and weren't that interested in helping the A's get a new stadium. However last I heard they were looking at sites within the strip but there was one area of land they were very interested in which is owned by one of the casino owners down there which is currently not being used for anything.

Oakland won’t do much of anything with their money so this deal never was going anywhere. They have other needs for community money and only buying time till the inevitable.

I really don’t care if they come to Vegas. I do hope that we are playing hardball in the negotiations. They would do well in an indoor stadium.

A’s fan here. I must say that I’m thinking more and more that I’m gonna lose my team now. The A’s have lousy ownership and I don’t think they want to be here in the Bay Area anymore. They want to move the team somewhere where they can play their small market crap on someone else.  That’s becoming difficult for them to do with the success of the Giants a couple miles away.

Personally, I just want Fisher to sell the team.  He’s a bigger problem than even screwy Oakland is in this scenario. He doesn’t care the least bit about baseball or sports in general.  I have no idea why he keeps the team. Just sell it to Joe Lacob or Larry Ellison.

Btw, I don’t think either Vegas or Portland are a serious option. MLB doesn’t want another team in a desert climate and Portland is not a major league city.  My bet would be on Nashville or Charlotte.

Fight On For Dear Old San Jose State;

Fight On For Victory!

We Are With You In Every Way.

No Matter What The Price May Be!

Onward For Sparta Noble And True,

Fight Hard In Everything You Do!

And So We'll Fight! (Rah!) Win! (Rah!)

March Onward Down the Field

And We Will Win The Day!

S...J...S...U,  S-J-S-U,  San Jose State!

The A's going that far east will or could make divisions even tougher - The AL west already has far flung membership........Sea Oak LAA all on the west coast & two TX teams, so Oka going to Nashville or Charlotte could mean teams moving divisions - Least LV & Portland would maintain a similar geographic look

They'd just swap the As with the Royals in that situation

The Royals belong where they are.  Great regional matchups.  Chicago,  Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota.

huge gaps between midwest & west - LV, Portland & SLC are the last viable western markets and they are all on the smaller side

I hope they can find a solution for the As in Oakland.  Would be best for pretty much everyone except Vegas and Portland.

If they had to move, I wouldn't mind to see if Portland can support a team.

Portland couldn't support the minor league teams they had.  It's a city of transplants that just don't care about baseball.  They had to move the minor league teams outside of Portland to the farming/urban interchange like Hillsboro to get better support.

MLB has changed team divisions and leagues before.  I was talking to an Assssstro bandwagon fan awhile back and mentioned they used to be in the NL West.  Didn't believe me.

That's a rookie league team in Hillsboro, Portland had AAA but didn't want to build them or the Timbers a new stadium, so took their stadium and retrofitted it for the Timbers and stopped halfway without building a new stadium for baseball.
