I guess men's volleyball is a thing

It is the Big West's best sport. We are the single best conference for men's volleyball and are looking to start a perfect 3-0 in national championships since sponsoring men's volleyball. Big West teams were previously in the MPSF for men's volleyball but adding Hawaii a while back and most recently UCSD pushed us over the top and gave us 6 schools (min to sponsor men's volleyball).

I get it is a minor sport BUT as a fan of a Big West school you should at least be aware of it lol. I mean it is literally the only sport we are the top conference.

I'm aware of it.  But the best sport in our conference is baseball.

men's volleyball should be relatively easy for other schools across the country to sponsor.  But there are less than 50 who do.

I guess I can accept the champs defeating us in the semis now.

Don’t USC and UCLA play men’s volleyball?

Yes.  Stanford did too, but they dropped it at season's end.

Oddly enough, Ohio State plays men's volleyball.  They're in a conference with Loyola Chicago and Ball State.

Congratulations, Rainbows.  I didn't catch the match but I heard it wasn't much of a competition.

Are there more than 25 schools that actually play Men’s Volleyball?

Yes.  It's a mishmash of D1 and D2 programs as neither division could sponsor a championship on its own.  There's roughly 50 combined programs.

I’ve always thought SJSU should get into that sport. Are there enough solid HS players throughout CA to support more CA schools playing? If UCSD could join and immediately be pretty good, sounds like more schools should play.

Congratulations to the Rainbow Warriors.

Truly a dominating team this year.

They need to do a parade in Hawaii to celebrate this National Championship.
