Rodgers wants out of Green Bay

Recommended Posts

Rodgers is a Diva and the Packers are idiots. They deserve each other.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

When he wins a meaningful game, let me know. Dudes made a living off of digging holes and then victimizing bad teams. Can’t do it when it counts though. Dude just sharts the bed on the big stage and stands there in disbelief with that mopey look on his face.

You do know he has a SB ring and SB MVP trophy, right?

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

So do Dexter Jackson and Joe Flacco…your point is?

Hell, Eli Manning has two of each.

You're the one claiming he hasnt won a meaningful game.  A Super Bowl strikes me as meaningful.

And who the hell is Dexter Jackson?  The Bucs' safety?  How many games did he QB?

Joe Flacco won an SB MVP, so did Dexter Jackson, so did Mark Rypien.

Eli Manning has 2 of each.

Take away the one SB win 10+ years ago, and what has he achieved? A bunch of padded stats and no meaningful wins...just the blank sideline look every time he plays in (and gets killed in) a meaningful game.

2011...15-1 season. Great. Played in the NFC Divisional against the Giants, lost 37-20, goes 26/46 264 2 TDs, 1 INT

2012...11-5 season. Wins the NFC Wildcard against a bad Vikings team with Christian Ponder at QB...goes 23/33 274, 1 TD. Follows that up with a clunker against SF, goes 26/39 257 2 TDs, 1 INT loses, 45-31. Wowza, what a great postseason performance!

2013...leads team to 8-7-1 record (Wow!) goes 17/26 177, 1 TD. They lose, 23-20. He's pretty awesome!

2014...beat Dallas 26-21, goes 24/35 316, 3 TDs. Great game played here. GB should have lost due to the whole catch/no-catch thing at the end, but I'm not holding that against them, that's how the ball bounces sometimes. BIG GAME ALERT...follows that up with a 19/34 178, 1 TD, 2 INTs...shits bed when it counts, they lose a game they should have won, 28-22.

2015...beat Washington 35-18, goes 21/36, 210, 2 TDs, follows it up with losing to Arizona 26-20. Goes 24/44 261, 2 TDs, 1 INT. Another bad performance in a meaningful game.

2016...beats the Giants, 38-13, has a good game...25/40, 362, 4 TDs....next game, beats Dallas 27-25, goes 28/43, 355, 2 TDs, 1 INT. Not a bad game, either. Next game? BIG GAME ALERT! Shits pants when it counts, they lose 44-21, he goes 27/45 287, 3 TDs (in garbage time)...once again, doesn't do anything when it counts.

2017...leads team to 7-9 record, no playoffs. Finishes behind Lions.

2018...leads team to 6-9-1 record, no playoffs. At least they finished ahead of the Lions!

2019...beats Seattle in the wildcard, goes 16/27, 243, 2 TDs. Hot damn, that's a crazy game! Next game, BIG GAME ALERT! 31/39 326, 2 TDs, 2 INTs. Mostly in garbage time. Wow! What a QB!

2020...beats LA 32-18, 23/36, 296, 2 TDs. Decent enough. Follows it up with a BIG GAME ALERT...loses to Tampa 31-26...goes 33/48, 346, 3 TDs.

Gets killed in every NFC Championship game appearance and every NFL playoff loss since, not mention every prime time game the dude plays in during the regular season. Doesn't win another Super Bowl. Pads his stats and makes a lot of commercials. Rodgers is what he is, a product of the offense-first rule changes with no heart and not guts or guile to win anything meaningful.

Eli Manning has 2 SB MVPs and 2 SB wins. From your "BRO! HE'S GOT A SUPER BOWL BRO!" standard, he's clearly the better QB.

You'd be right though, Rodgers is about on a Mark Rypien-level of quarterbacking.

Seems to have won quite a few playoff games for a guy who, in your words, hasn't won any meaningful games.

Good thing he's not a kicker.

The moving goalpost would have been a bitch...

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

is Aaron Rodgers one of the 5 most talented players to ever play QB in the NFL?

True

have the Packers frequently under-performed since Aaron Rodgers took over as starter for Brett Favre?

also True

Did they under perform with Favre, too? Because it's literally the same results. In fact, made the playoffs less, advanced less, and generally performed worse, yet Favre is known as a gunslinger that'll get you far in the playoffs. The Packers have underperformed since 1994.

It's almost as if getting to the Super Bowl is hard and depends on things that can't be categorized.

I guess the QB also plays defense.  The more you know.

What would the Packers record be without Rodgers?  We kinda know because we saw how dog shit they were when Huntley had to fill in.  The Packers have essentially only been as good as their QB fitting the system since Favre.
