I don’t know if “letting you” is right, but they surely aren’t stopping anyone from what I can tell.

They are going to open lounges here in nevada so you can smoke. Like a bar. I’m not into smoking so I’m not sure how it will work.

Also, see LoDo in Denver. I was shocked at how bad it was. But honestly none of my business. I like all the bars in that area.

Super nice little stadium. There’s a reason I get called every month by WSU asking for more $$$. $120m in debt will do that to an AD. My $250 isn’t going to make a dent that much I know.

Maybe @Did I hear a WOOSH? can help out? He's a high roller with major ties to the West. He was telling @tailingpermit and @Jack Bauer  he can afford to wipe his ass with $100 bills if he wants.

If I had a donor on the hook, the $$ sure as F wouldn’t go to a program so deluded that it thinks it can spend its way to competitiveness while located in Pullman. WSU is a good regional school and I liked it but seriously?

Went to U of Idaho (1980-84) in Moscow, 9 miles from Pullman..........August, September & October were the best months up there.........November to July sucked azz - cold, rainy, damp & miserableness

No major issues weather wise should be expected unless freak storm blows thru.

Could fly into Lewiston ID which is a bit closer, but less flights than Spokane...........neither is a major or busy airport, but Spokane has more flights per day than the one or two Lewiston ID gets

Once flew in November '83 from Spokane to Calgary Alberta .......twin engine prop plane with about 13 seats.........luggage in a wired frame storage space in the rear of the plane (probably for the tail weight).........pilots didn't close curtain to cockpit (yes CURTAIN) & could see windshield ice up as we crossed Canadian Rockies

We need the tax $$ - so light up, no one will care & drink & gamble (a lot please) - Remember UNR gleans $$ off the Clark County & Las Vegas tax base

You know what’s really sad? Nothing against you personally. Vegas claims to be a world class city. Truth is, the city was built on taking hard earned paychecks from suckers with gambling addictions.

Look no further than no windows, free booze and no clocks in any casinos. Throw in a tiger show with 90 year old foreigners that had no business playing with dangerous animals as entertainment.

Fast forward 50 years and not much has changed. Most of their economy is based on taking suckers money aka tourism.

When Covid hit, Vegas’ economy was destroyed. Not much diversity in industry.  Major job loss of an uneducated workforce.  Other places with real industry fared much better..Jobs that require education and actually build something other than a  casino.

I just get a kick out of Vegas residents that want people to come back and blow more money.

You would be wise to stay in Spokane and drive down to the game. You’ll at least be able to find a decent place to stay and eat. There isn’t much in Pullman or nearby Moscow. It should be an easy win for BYU. Hiking that time of year in Hell’s Canyon area should be ok unless there’s a really early snow storm which is unlikely. Hunters will be out so wear some orange.

Personally I’d go to the USC or Georgia Southern game instead of WSU.

NV's main economy from 1930 to 2000 & beyond is about people coming here to spend their money - which is the point of every tourist attraction worldwide ............NV has the added aspect of using booze to grease the wheels

I saw a US news report that Nevada has the 33rd best economy post COVID. Just seems like state leaders would focus on some diversity after what just happened.

Vegas has been high on the tourism hog for awhile. Might be time to get some new industries in town and maybe they are now focusing on that. Not sure.

There's always the Harvester Restaurant in Spangle WA.  My favorite place to eat when vacationing in Spangle.

Over the last 20 years LV & northern NV have done much better in diversifying the local economic base............Tourism in northern NV has fallen below other industries & business and tourists aren't the $$ generator they once were ..............LV area is still heavily tourism obviously, but there's new biz & industry popping up all around the LV area.

Tech is making inroads in both northern & southern NV

Rural NV is just too isolated (other than the I-80 corridor across northern NV) - the area south of I-8- to Clark County is just mining & a few scraggly ranches way off the transportation system - Not sure what can be done for those towns that are literally frozen in 1880 except for some pavement, telephones & lights

I was planning to drive up from the Boise area on Friday.  Not sure I want to go all the way to Spokane.  I was thinking of staying in Lewiston if I can't find anything in Pullman/Moscow.  Then, on Saturday, we could drive into Pullman for the game and back to Lewiston after the game.  If it ends up being a night game, then we might just leave home on Saturday morning.  Should I expect Lewiston to be sold out of hotel rooms, too?

Then maybe we'll poke around the Hells Canyon area when we drive back on Sunday.

I think Lewiston should have rooms.  It's hunting season, so that will dampen some folks from heading in for the game.  Probably be safe and do it now.  There is a Holiday Inn in Clarkston that would work, and it is close to a half decent restaurant on the water called Rooster's, and there is a Costco and Walmart right next to there if you need some stuff for tailgating.

Reno added 30 companies last year during the Covid year.  15 from Cali the rest from around the country, 14 were corporate headquarters which we like because of the high salaries.  Google has a big investment in L.V

& they just completed a big data center up here.  Microsoft has been here for years with their licensing div. & now with Google all the big tech companies are here with their data centers.

Yeah, the Google data center was a pretty big project in Henderson - Warehouses out near the LV Motor Speedway have sprouted like weeds in the last few years.

Despite Covid the construction hasn't slowed one bit & houses are selling in hours when put on the market

Both ends of the state have done much better in this century to diversify their economic base...........Reno area started before LV area, but also LV had to shake off the "Vegas" mindset that prevented companies from looking at locating to LV area..........the NHL & NFL helped bring LV into the "major metro area" mindset and it's not the secondary market that it used to be

Google build their own power plant to go with their building (Structures at left)
