The quick turnaround of the jury favors the prosecution in this trial I think.

Sort of agree............think the ten or so hours was parcing over the 3 charges - think he's guilty of at least the 1st, if not 2nd charge

Personally I don't think Chauvin's intent was to kill.....this is just a poor use of force & the length of time was damning

Think Chauvin is guilty of two of the three charges

It's been two days.  That isn't quick.

I'm wondering if the reason they are waiting until 5:00 to read the verdict is to allow more time for LE to prepare and get equipment and personnel in place.

It was 10 hours of deliberations.

Think the verdict comes in for the two highlighted charges

The charges Derek Chauvin faces:

1. Second-degree murder

2. Third-degree murder

3. Second-degree manslaughter

The jury may convict on any, all, or none of the charges. The most serious charge can carry a 12.5 prison term for a first-time offender.

Can you be convicted of both manslaughter and murder? I don't know if you can.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Now that you mention it - Maybe these are the options that he could be charged with?! So maybe this is an option thing
