There are some populations of women that are very good looking until they hit about 30, and then some sort of odd transformation takes place...  And I am not talking about the minivan, and the 30 pounds, per say.    Its like a skin condition, or something...

Drugs, alcohol, and stress make you age faster.  Hence why utahns who are more likely to not drink and on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications are more likely to keep their looks into middle age than a vodka-guzzling Russian or crackhead Floridan.

If I had to rate Gaetz's finance on the hotness scale (I don't usually lower myself to such things, because I am an enlightened, woke person, I support women's rights and female place kickers, but I'll indulge this one time).....

I'd say she's pretty good looking, but not as hot as the ladies at BYU.

Man, you don't appreciate what you have at BYU until you visit schools like UNLV, Wyoming, or Reno, or some place....

Well, they were pretty nice at SDSU as I recall, and we could have sex.

That dude makes Gaetz look like a veritable statesman in comparison.

Gaetz is trash too, FWIW. I don't like any Florida Republican outside of Desantis though.

DeSantis is a cold blooded asshole, I like him.  He’s one of the only Florida Republican politicians that gives a shit about the environment.

True.   But was it tough to have sex so infrequently at SDSU?

I mean, at BYU, everyone is married.  (If this Minivan is a Rockin' Don't Come a Knockin')

LOL, when I was in HS, I was 18 and my gf 17. Yeah, it’s a stupid law for kids that are close to the same age. The state will prosecute minors as adults but they can’t date an 18 year old? Dumbest law ever.

I didn’t say he was setup this particular time you dummy, I said it could happen to him if he’s careless.

You are clueless

Something is not right with Gaetz's face proportions.

It just seems off....

Plus, I'm glad he didn't wear the suit in this photo to Wyoming, or he might have got his ass kicked.  @OrediggerPoke

Early life and education

Matthew L. Gaetz II was born on May 7, 1982,[3] in Hollywood, Florida,[4] to Victoria Quertermous and Don Gaetz, who later became a prominent local politician. Gaetz grew up near Fort Walton Beach, and graduated from Niceville High School in 2000.[5][6] He graduated from Florida State University in 2003 with a B.S. in interdisciplinary sciences and then received a J.D. from the William & Mary Law School in 2007.[7][8]

Gaetz's father represented parts of Northwest Florida as a member of the Florida State Senate from 2006 to 2016 and was Senate president from 2012 to 2014. Gaetz's grandfather, Jerry Gaetz, was the mayor of Rugby, North Dakota, and a candidate for lieutenant governor of North Dakota at the 1964 North Dakota Republican Party state convention, where he died of a heart attack.[9]

After graduating from William & Mary Law School,[10] Gaetz worked at the law firm Keefe, Anchors & Gordon (now AnchorsGordon)[11] in Fort Walton Beach.[12]

Remember the Democratic Congresswoman Katie Hill, who was shamed for being a secret Lesbian and who was forced to resign?

Investigation[edit]

The House Ethics Committee announced on October 23, 2019, that it would conduct an investigation into the allegation that Hill had an affair with a male staffer,[40] which, if true, would be in violation of House ethics reforms that were implemented in 2018 in response to the #MeToo movement.[41][42][43] On that same day, Hill sent an email to constituents in which she admitted to an "inappropriate relationship" with a campaign staffer before becoming a representative (hence out of scope of the Congressional investigation) and promised to cooperate with the Congressional ethics investigation regarding allegations of wrongdoing as a member of Congress.[44][45] The earlier relationship Hill admitted to was with a 22-year-old female subordinate recently out of college.[46][47]

I recall that Matt Gaetz was a supporter of Katie Hill....

Hmmm...

But Gaetz did. Last week, as the allegations were unfolding, he tweeted: “Who among us would look perfect if every ex leaked every photo/text? Katie isn’t being investigated by Ethics or maligned because she hurt anyone—it is because she is different.” Later he tweeted: “Congress should write a budget before we play ‘bedroom police’ or allow an ex to illegally humiliate our colleague for being different. Key fact: Not a whiff of a complaint from anyone who has worked for Congresswoman Hill. Just an angry ex releasing revenge porn. Sad!”

How do we know Gaetz wears sweater vests? It is completely unclear if his sweater has sleeves or not. Good move by gaetz to stay warm in the Wyoming winter, though. layers.

Gaetz seems slimy fwiw

Bob - somehow I imagine you in very similar attire. But I will give you WAY more credit than Gaetz.

Rather than a sweater vest over the shirt and tie, I'm picturing a tank top.  And rather than an Armani Suit, I'm picturing 70s style salvation army classic.

It does not help Gaetz right now that he was the only NO vote in Congress on an anti-sex trafficking law in 2017.

Matt Gaetz defends lone no vote on anti-human trafficking bill

It's actually too bad. That may have been his only good vote in congress. The recent spate of human trafficking laws have been a mess. Their biggest material impact has been to make sex workers less safe, poorer and less autonomous.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Not that unusual here, either.  Sun dresses and cowboy boots.

My God, the plot continues to thicken.

Quote

Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican known for his fierce allegiance to former president Donald Trump, had been under Justice Department investigation for months for a possible sex crime when two men approached his father with a proposal, people familiar with the matter said.

The men had learned of the investigation, they wrote to Don Gaetz, and wanted to offer an opportunity to help his son, the people said. He could give a huge sum of money to fund their effort to locate Robert A. Levinson — the longest held American hostage in Iran whose family has said they were told he is dead. If the operation was a success, he would win favor with the U.S. government and help alleviate Matt Gaetz’s legal woes.

But Don Gaetz, a prominent Florida Republican who once led the state Senate, viewed the communication suspiciously, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe a continuing and politically sensitive probe. The investigation into Matt Gaetz’s alleged crime — he is suspected of having sex with a 17-year-old girl, as well as funding her travel — was not public knowledge. Fearing his family was being extorted, Don Gaetz contacted the FBI.

The messy political drama has in some ways diverted attention from a grim reality for the congressman. He remains under investigation for possible sex crimes, leaving him vulnerable to potentially serious legal jeopardy.

The men who approached Gaetz’s father, people familiar with the matter said, had no apparent connection to the sex crimes investigation of his son, other than having somehow learned about it before it was publicly reported. But when news of law enforcement’s interest in Gaetz surfaced Tuesday, the congressman asserted that the allegation was “rooted in an extortion effort against my family for $25 million,” and he identified by name a former federal prosecutor who he said was part of the effort.

While the Justice Department investigates possible sex crimes, the FBI is separately examining whether the request to his father about Levinson might constitute extortion, with Gaetz and his family as possible victims.

Substantiating criminal charges in the extortion probe could be difficult, people familiar with the matter said, noting that, when the two men — who have not been identified — first contacted Don Gaetz, they did not explicitly threaten to expose the congressman unless they were paid. Even if investigators do come to believe there was an attempt to extort the Gaetz family, it appears connected to the sex-crimes investigation only because the men involved discovered it and used it as leverage for personal purposes, people familiar with the matter said.

I suppose it was. I wouldn't know. I had sex frequently.
