Roger Stone says Gaetz should keep talking?

Stone must not have watched the Tucker Carlson interview. I don't think Gaetz is someone who can talk himself out of trouble. More likely Gaetz would incriminate himself.

Stone looks like someone who would've been right at home in the S.S. back during WWII.  Gaetz?  A (far) wayward version of Donny Osmond.  Both should rot in jail, but, unfortunately, the Eternally Corrupt Twice Impeached Orange Shit Stain has already bailed Stone out...

There is no way that was drafted by a lawyer.

Don't be too sure.

I've been around hundreds of lawyers and some were so incompetent I seriously wondered how they ever got into law school, much less graduating and passing the bar exam. You're probably unaware that there are some states where you gain bar admission through simply having attended law school at the state's flagship university. Alabama at least used to be one such state. As exemplified by how Gaetz has managed to avoid prosecution all these years despite living like a spoiled frat brat, I'm convinced there are many licensed attorneys whose families basically paid someone else to attend law school for them and nobody asked questions.

I mean, didn't they effectively force Al Franken to resign after that picture came out?

Not really "they" but Kirsten Gillibrand. What a piece of work she is.

I’m sure. In addition, few states allow for admission without passing a bar exam (although bar exams are exceedingly easy and don’t accurately reflect a lawyer’s ability to practice law).

That said -  I graduated law school quite a few years ago.  Not a single classmate that I’m aware of would write garbage like that.

But wait, there's more!

Quote

While serving in the Florida Legislature, U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz opposed a bill meant to stop people from sharing sexually explicit images of their ex-lovers because Gaetz believed that recipients of those images had a right to share them, according to the sponsor of the legislation.

Former state Rep. Tom Goodson, a Republican from Brevard County, spent three years sponsoring legislation to outlaw nonconsensual pornography — sometimes called “revenge porn.”

And Goodson said Monday that Gaetz was the chief opponent to that legislation. Goodson said he remembered a meeting in which Gaetz said that if someone sends an intimate image to their romantic partner, then that image becomes the partner’s property to use however they want.

“Matt was absolutely against it. He thought the picture was his to do with what he wanted,” Goodson said. “He thought that any picture was his to use as he wanted to, as an expression of his rights.”

Looks like Gaetz is expected to be arrested in coming weeks..

like everyone he deserves his day in court and not to be convicted in the court of public opinion.   His actions if proven were criminal and could result in jail time.

It does in elections and if he doesn’t resign voters in Florida are free to throw him out though I doubt they will.

30’s? Where did I say 30’s? You guys are so hilarious. If I challenge you on certain things, you assume I’m challenging you on all of it. If Gaetz is in his 30’s and he was boinking a 17 year old, then he does have a problem. The tough part will be to prove he knew her age. She may have said 18 like a lot of girls do, especially as they get closer to their 18th birthday.

I’d be interested to know what the law expects from an older person. If a girls lies about her age, are you supposed to get a copy of the persons license to prove she’s 18? If a guy is 30 and a girl is 18, the appropriateness of the relationship has a lot to do with how mature the girl is. Some grow up fast, some not. That’s a lot more important than some numbers like 17.8 years old or 18.0 years old.

In many countries around the world, it’s completely normal for a 45 year old dude marrying an 18 to 25 year old girl. But of course, it’s based more on security and survival than anything. An older guy that’s proven he can provide for a family is what the women judge them highly on.
