If you're worried about your offspring potentially becoming whores for a Congressman, you screwed up as a parent big time somewhere down the line.

Also, "put up with it"...lmao. When did you move to the Florida Panhandle?

That's what I mean. None of you guys live in the Panhandle, or in Florida for that matter, and you're all obsessing over this dude like he's the principal at your kid's school or something.

Since when is maybe two posts obsessing?

Now whether the Kings management ever pulls their head out of their ass.... that I may be obsessing about.   Getting that piece of shit Trump out of office I definitely obsessed about.   But if Gaetz is convicted holding onto his Congressional seat will be the least of his problems.

by and large I could care less who a Congressman or Congresswomen screws as long as it’s not his/her employee or underage.   Oh and my comment about if you have kids had nothing to do with my fear for my daughter.  It was more along you would have more appreciation for a young man and/or woman at that age and their ability to approach said relationship..

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

It happened once before. And, hell... Sjsu won a football title. Anything can happen.

I wasn't talking about you when I made that post but you replied to it. I was talking about Retro and FF posting updates every 15 mins on every little thing that comes down the pike about this. You replied to me. Hence, I replied to you.

Sadly you may be right.

They're as futile as the T-Wolves. Further the ownership's inherent ineptness in being ran by some micromanaging Silicon Valley dickweed who doesn't understand basketball but insists he is hands-on on everything because he coached his daughter's HS basketball team will ensure that futility will remain for a long, long time.

No, one great shot by mike bibby does not make up for those mother+++++ers running their daddy's casino and liquor business (supposedly thr only recession proof models) into the ground and then leveraging the team and the community for cash so they could play in the ducks arena without any real financial commitment. +++++ those guys. They were not in ownership level anymore and they tried to steal the team from town to prove otherwise.

They killed my love of sports for a while. Maybe if Webb's knee didnt explode, I'd feel different. I'll let these dipshits get lucky and hire a good gm by accident. It's happened before in the 916.

That's fair.

I wish the Kings would start winning honestly. They're kind of the basketball version of the A's in NorCal these days. Always kind of were, I guess, but the embrace of the Dubs by Bay Area bandwagoners in recent years has really cemented them as the "other" team in these parts.

It's wild that the Kings and Dubs have never been good at the same time. Either both have been horrible, or one has been good and the other bad.

My father in law was a die hard Dubs and Giants fan from his youth in the 60s until he died last year. He liked the 49ers too, but they were kind of third fiddle. Dude got to go to multiple champ parades with his grandkids before he died. I can only hope that something like that happens with the kinds before I go, too. Got  conference championship in the pocket, so step one.

Sacramento is a great basketball town, so if they even get sort of good again, it will explode. We can only hope.

White Chocolate > Mike Bibby

I mean, I'm glad J-will won the title and I love that guy. But he was basically Mike Bibby for that team. There's no question Bibby put the Kings to another level that Williams just didn't have in him at the time.

One of my faves of all time though. Since we didn't win the title with Bibby, I'd have preferred J-Will's play during the same stretch. Including the balls int he stands from the wild errant passes.

I never felt bad about the Dubs (or Giants) finally winning it all in spite of the onslaught of insufferable bandwagoners because I knew/know a lot of old dudes like your father in law who suffered for years and it was great to finally see them get something to go wild over.

And yeah, Sac is a great basketball town. It'd be great if they got winning again and made that new downtown place feel like the old Arco Arena in its heyday. I'd love to see it. When the Kings were good it was awesome. I remember just having moved to CA and being caught up in the fights between the Lakers and Kings fans at school. It was awesome. It'd be great to see something similar happen again.

I agree. There were a lot of times I really could't stand those teams being so good, especially since they were winning as the city and bay were changing so much. It felt like they were winning in front of different crowds. But I would always tell Joe (who knew my plight as  Kings fan, and who went to multiple SJSU games) that when I talk shit about SF sports fans, I don't mean you. You earned it mother+++++er. He got to take my nephew to the first Giants champs parade in 2010. I can only hope to do something like that someday.

The craziest thing about White Chocolate, to me anyway, was that his HS basketball teammate was Randy Moss. That must've been one fun team to watch in BFE West Virginia.

Funny thing - my FIL and I bonded over how much we hated Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy on ESPN's games. We also hated the Eagles.

He was a good man.

My grandpa was a huge fan of both of those dudes and I watched a lot of sporting events with him...and any time either of those dudes would be playing, he'd bring it up lol.

Seeing two transcendent athletes in high school would be something else. I mean, both those guys changed their sports.

He sounds like he was a righteous dude.

He was in the city and the larger Bay Area in the late 60s. His brothers were roadies and draft dodgers and poets and shit. And his aunts and uncles were FOB Irish priests and nuns. That family is great. Listening to them tell stories about the city is like sitting in a history lecture.
