Houston is so lucky... Easiest path ever (seeding wise) to final 4. Average seed 12!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Would need to play a 15 seed, 10 seed, 11 seed, and 12 seed. Would play zero single digit seeds.

That has to be the easiest path ever to the final 4. I mean a 1 seed in theory could easily go 16 seed, 9 seed, 13 seed BUT their elite 8 opponent would have to be a 10 seed to match Houston 12 seed average.  It is possible but not sure if that has ever happen.

Having said that I still only give Houston a 50/50 shot to make the final 4. I think both Syracuse and even Oregon State have the potential to beat them.

A banner year for western basketball. If Houston finishes, four western teams have advanced to the Elite 8 in one day.

Calling Houston western is like calling them a "power 6" member.  I mean - really?

To most of the country the line between east and west is very clear:  the Mississippi River.

Is Arkansas in the west? How about Lafayette, LA? That's west of the Mississippi.

Houston is a 4 hour drive from New Orleans.

Arkansas can be considered Midwest, so I'd say yes.

Houston is definitely part of the southwest or Texan west. Look at the socio-cultural aspects of the area.

Nope. They aren’t.  Completely different cultures from western states and cities.

In my school, we were taught that the continental divide(aka the Rocky Mountains) is the magic line.

Midwest, Southwest,The South, The West, Pacific Northwest aren’t made up words. I have 10x more in common with a person from Idaho, Colorado, Arizona and say Nevada than someone in Houston or Little Rock Arkansas.

The West is often falsely disregarded as not having good athletes or competitive athletics.  I don’t think Texas or even Arkansas have that problem.

The bias is real.
