Alford?

Recommended Posts

I wonder if any P5 schools have him on their radar? He's a good coach with lots of experience, these days you never know until it happens and this is the time of year the coaching musical chairs starts.I only say this because I did not see the UNLV coach or Utah State coach leaving. Money talks!!

Actually I think most Nevada fans would agree. With the amount of money changing hands, no MWC coach is safe. I like to think that because Alford is on the tail-end of his career and has made lots of chead, his decisions are more Fisher than Smith...

Hope he stays put. He has chased enough money. It will be a good rivalry with the Krugers back in the conference.

When he came to Nevada it was his idea to ask for a 10 year contract.  Times change but at least at that time it seemed he was planning stick around & cruise into retirement.  When he was a kid a girl 2 doors down from him

would shag the ball for him.  She did the same in H.S.  He married her, they're still together & raised solid kids.  Current asst. coach Noodles Neal was his friend in the 3rd grade.  The more I learn about him the more solid I think he is.

He lives in Somersett. He’s not moving. 😂

His buyout is 8million still, drops next year

If he stays on a winning track with Nevada, and his buyout drops, more teams will start looking at him more seriously. I suspect he'll may make another P5 move after this season.

Probably not that soon but he went to UCLA after signing his new contract at NM?  He might grow antsy with Nevada's small budget and take another shot at a P5 down the road.

That is a definite possibility.  Hopefully, he wins something at Nevada before that happens.  Nevada has proved to be a good stepping stone job for the past 20 years so it's attractive to up and comers.

If he stays, I'd expect him to move to a nicer neighborhood

and definitely a better golf course

Jealousy is an ugly emotion. Plus I don’t golf. That “sport” is for old people. Ha!

To the NV and UNLV followers, I've always wondered.  Have any of you seen your coaches in the casinos?

No.

Edit: Tarkanian could be seen walking through to a restaurant. Probably others as well, but no, they don't stop and gamble.

Your an idiot if you think that.  He failed TWICE at the P5 level!

Well...you were obnoxiously convinced that Rice, Menzies and Whataburger were going to lead UNLV to the promised land so your credibility may be suspect.
