Son is head man for BB, he has all the power we wants. He retires the day his son is named Head Coach. Then buys a house in Vegas to "retire" to.  Also moved up his retirement plans by two years when his son was named coach.  He did this to make sure he can be in Vegas to do everything possible to make sure Kevin and UNLV BB succeed.  Lon knows the ins and outs of UNLV, is here to smash all the behind the scenes bullshit and squash the dysfunction that has plagued UNLV BB going back to Tark.  He will not be here to "retire"  he will be here to make sure Kevin not only wins, but wins big.

AD runs all sports. No way he's given the power to make any decisions within the program unless the position opens up and he applies for the AD position. Not sure why you think president and others would bend over backwards for LK. They are not fans.

Saw this one coming when we lost our assistant to Utah.

I called his entire disappointing UNLV career before he stepped foot on campus.

Super easy call on this guy's game.

Lon has a lot of powerful friends in Vegas that will write checks for him. He has been the only coach post Tark to align the boosters. Doesn't need to be the AD to do that.

Couldn't get his shot off against MW talent, hows he plan on doing it in the PAC.

It’s amazing. Any player or coach leaving UNLV is a terrible bum but any coach or player coming in is a future NBA player or the next legendary hall of fame coach.

Funny how that stuff works.

He is a good player but an indifferent defender and a unwilling passer..If the Utes just use him as a catch and shoot guy he does have a nice stroke.

Jenkins was your second leading scorer and best 3 point shooter last year.

Im not sure how he’ll do at Utah.. Maybe he just wants to play UCLA, Oregon, Arizona, USC every year...

I agree with that, but that's not what the person I was responding to was talking about.

They said LK could come in and start making decisions at the admin level.

He can't. No matter how well liked he is. In fact you didn't even dispute that.

Losing Hamilton will hurt. Jenkins will hurt to some extent, but you will find out that he doesn't play defense and he takes crazy shots. Grill I wish would of stayed. The other were awful. Otz gave Division 2 players scholarships so you really can't blame us for being happy to shed some wasted scholarships

Yeah, nobody in Camp Utah is making a huge deal of the transfer. He might be good. We’ll see.

I just think it’s funny. Everyone leaving(that they recruited or hired) is a bum all of sudden.

And the federal government.

No.

“However, in explaining the county’s opposition to SB 287, Eureka County Natural Resources Manager Jake Tibbitts pointed to a “Prohibition on Designation” section of the 2018 Agriculture Improvement Act in which Congress included a clarification that “no additional entity may be designated as eligible to receive funds under a covered program” and no “State shall receive an increase in funding under a covered program as a result of the State’s designation of additional entities as eligible to receive such funding.”

The act specifically clarified “for purposes of this section, the term ‘covered program’ means agricultural research, extension, education, and related programs or grants established or available under” Congress’s land grant institution related acts.”

Politicians in Las Vegas can pontificate misinformation to the uneducated masses that live there but no one is going to recognize DRI or Vegas as land grant institutions and neither will be able to apply for grants. Facts.

We will see! Can't wait.  This ain't 2018 and Biden running the show now with Dems in charge.

We make the rules and we make them to suit our own needs.  Nobody cares what the Northern scum think or how you feel about it.

Losing 33 points per game will hurt.  Hope the new guys work out.

you left this part out...

The primary purpose of SB287 is a formal recognition of what several legal opinions, including those at the Legislative Counsel Bureau and the Nevada System of Higher Education, have already concluded: that the Constitution names Nevada’s “State University” as a land grant institution, and that university — the University of Nevada — includes not only UNR, but also UNLV and DRI.
