Maybe. Maybe not.

But we couldn't get much worse.

You could if TJ & ISU hadn't gifted you.

It's probably going to be a rough couple of years even if KK ends up being a good coach.

Kevin Kruger will need to do well with HS recruiting.

“The portal is going to go all the way probably through the end of July,” Kruger said.

What are the chances that Kruger is holding spots for someone who is entered in the NBA Draft such as Bryce Hamilton, Austin Reeves or another unknown player?

The NCAA has tabbed July 7 as the withdrawal date for the 2021 NBA Draft, according to CBS Sports Jon Rothstein.

What about all the UNLV bums that are planning on playing in Europe? You guys seem to have a few dozen NBA washouts that slide their way into obscurity overseas..

Hoping KK can save them for the 2021 Final 4 run. Or was that next year?

Looks like this guy is available for UNLV.

If he doesn’t go to UNLV, he was just a lazy bum that isn’t Vegas material.

If he’s lucky enough to get an offer from KK, he’s a shoe in for the NBA hall of fame. Depending on his eligibility, he could be part of this season’s final 4 run or the championship team next year.

I’m not sure why he ever considered a disaster like Nevada.

Analysis: Justin Webster’s varied offense should benefit UNLV

https://lasvegassun.com/news/2021/may/27/analysis-justin-websters-varied-offense-should-ben/

The thing to like about Webster is the varied offensive game. He’s not a star scorer or No. 1 option, but as a complementary player he’s got just about everything you’d want: he’s an ace spot-up shooter, he can beat close-outs, he can keep the ball moving and he can even run the offense a little bit. In contrast to fellow incoming wing Donovan Williams, who is all athleticism and little polish, Webster is all skill.

So what is the starting five look like now?

2021/22 UNLV Starting Five

Jordan McCabe/Keshon Gilbert

Mike Nuga/Justin Webster/Josh Baker

Bryce Hamilton/Donovan Williams

Royce Hamm Jr/Victor Iwaukor

David Muoka

I think I would go with:

Keshon Gilbert, Mike Nuga, Justin Webster, Bryce Hamilton and Royce Hamm Jr.

This is the good news we have been quietly hoping for this past month. With the new lineup I expect Bryce to be much more efficient. Last year he seemed very mature and patient while trying to let the team work through the offense until the point where he had to take over. He should get much more help this year and not need to go 1 on 3 when everyone else froze up.

Big news!

Thanks Rob for the great news!

Thank the coaches and Bryce obviously was raised properly so thank his parents.

When Arkansas, Kentucky, UCLA etc. are offering scholarships and you choose UNLV you know the guy is a true Rebel.

This should lock up 20+ wins for Kruger's first season.  Nice start for his career.

I think Dave Rice won 26 games his first year but that number got worse each year after that.

Kruger should be just the opposite. Start at 20+ and build it to 30+ in a few years.

Chance for some big wins at home in Vegas vs. UCLA, Cal, Arizona/Michigan!

We will actually be able to put a team on the floor of all Four Star players if we wish to do so.

Jordan McCabe (4 Star)

Bryce Hamilton (4 Star)

Donovan Williams (4 Star)

Victor Iwaukor (4 Star)

Royce Hamm Jr. (4 Star)

Should be a fun first year for the Kevin Kruger era and things will only get better!
