Nah, he's leaving because he knows this program is in a bad spot. I know people want CKK to succeed but there's no denying he's starting from scratch and isn't a proven miracle worker.

Maybe it’ll be fun and CKK will put a 25 year old air conditioning repairman in the lineup.

Or Austin Reaves pulled out of the draft and is coming to Sin city with Brady Manek while Timmy Allen just committed and Matt Bradley decided Vegas is for him!  All while Christian Bishop called Kevin Kruger and pledged his undying loyalty to UNLV!

"Testing the waters of the NBA" probably already resulted in finding out that it's hard to get an invite to the NBA combine when you shoot 27.0 3PT% in conference and are two inches shorter than the average NBA scoring guard.

I agree he might have heard that his NBA prospects were zilch at this point .......and now he's maybe looking for a better situation to improve

It is possible he is just checking out his options and will decide to return..

True - Just because he's got his name is the portal doesn't 100% mean he's leaving - So until he signs on at another school he could still be in the UNLV mix

Not even a single workout has taken place. G League is also in on workouts. The season is still taking place. The Lottery isn't even for another 2.5 months.

But he decided to transfer after a handful of zoom meetings?

This must be the twighlight zone.

Pretty sure lots of players get told they should return to school based on scouting of the past season & film - Don't think an NBA team needs to "work out" Hamilton to see he's not NBA material - Its obvious to most he isn't NBA ready at this point in time

It was obvious to most that Derrick Jones Jr should return to school. Werent youbn that camp too?

And yes, workouts, zoom meetings, physicals, competing vs other fringe prospects. Most is not happening now.

Saying he's not NBA material and then saying he's just not ready yet is trying to play both sides of the fence so you're right either way if he makes it later. 🙄

No one in the gleague is saying he can't play there. They do get paid you know? He can refine his game 247 there. He doesn't have to be ready.

You are reaching. Goodman did not speak with Bryce.

He's not coming back. He'll look for a team with a bigger profile, and roll the dice on whether he gets to play or ride the pine. I have a feeling he saw JTT just win a national championship, and feels he can maybe do the same.

He's from So Cal, wouldn't be surprised to see him looking that direction, either of the Pac 12 LA schools would pick him up.

Plus, UNLV seems to be the farm club for Oregon lately..

Once DRF went with cheap inexperience, the writing was on the wall.
