FWIW Hamm was 11th in minutes at Texas, McCabe 9th at WVU, and Iwuakor 9th at OU.

All Top 10 programs at one point or another during the season.  These guys may not be world beaters but they at least look the part and are much better than what we are losing.

Iwuakor can turn into something.  He still has three years left.  Also, he and Hamm both add much more athleticism up front than we previously had.

KK is doing a good job, so far.  You definitely got an upgrade.  But you've got some work to do if you're going to win the off season.

UNLV adds big man Victor Iwuakor via transfer portal

Iwuakor was a three-star prospect in the Class of 2019, rated the No. 152 player in the nation by 247 Sports. The 6-foot-7 forward had offers from schools such as Baylor, Florida and Arkansas, but the athletic big man ultimately chose Oklahoma.

Hopefully he has some level of skill.  We can’t trade all skill and no athleticism with all athleticism and no skill.

I do think he’s an upgrade over what we had.  He and Hamm should grade out well defensively like Diong does.

Who on our team that’s leaving would get 10 rebounds vs Texas Tech?

We are losing scrubs and replacing them with seasoned bench players from Top 10 teams.

Manek/Ding Dong

Kaluma/Hamm Jr/Iwuakor

Hamilton/Blake

Transfer/Jenkins/Gilbert

Transfer/McCabe/Coleman

We still have studs to sign but so far so good

You do make a good point.  I’m just trying to be cautiously optimistic.

I don't know if Kaluma starts right away. He's raw.

I think McCabe starts. If kk signs backcourt players good enough to send him to a bench role, then UNLV will be very good. Nationally good.

I think he starts but UNLV can still be very good with McCabe starting. He just can't be the best player or it's middle of the mworst.

Congratulations to former UNLV F Johnathan Tchwama Tchatchoua on winning the Men's National Championship!

JTT played pivotal roles in the FF and the natty playing big minutes, shooting insane %'s and zero turnovers.

UNLV would have been a lot better than most people think. Oh well.

Kudos to JTT!

Great for JTT to win the championship, he made the right move but hard to say whether UNLV would’ve been a lot better otherwise.
