Let’s see.

He took North Dakota State from D2 to D1 and built the Bison team into a Summit League champion and NCAA tourney team.

He came to CSU and inherited a broken program with some really serious character issues. Jason Smith left for the NBA and the only two scholarship players who stayed for that first season were injured 7-footers Stu Creason and Ronnie Aguilar. Juco’s, walkons, transfers were necessary to fill the roster. By year3 he had CSU in the CBI, year 4 was NIT, year 5 was NCAA at-large. He left a year 6 NCAA at-large program for Nebraska. He had one great recruiting class (Green, Hornung, Smith) and filled in with some P5 transfers who became MWC first teamers (Ogide, Eikmeier, Iverson, Bejarano).

He built Nebraska into an NCAA atlarge by his second year. And led Nebraska to multiple NIT appearances. He also took them into nightly sellouts at their new 16000 seat arena. Top 15 attendance nationally.

A strong Program builder resume who puts fans in the seats. I’d say that’s pretty good.

I became friends with Tim when he came to Fort Collins.  We still keep in touch.  I really hope he gets the Lobo job so that we can see him in Fort Collins once a year. He’ll be greeted very warmly here.

Are you one of those coach stalkers?

I don't know how much dough UNM has, but they should try to hire the top assistant from a winning P5 school.  Lots of them out there.  UNM's facility is good enough to lure said coaches.  Unfortunately it always comes down to money.

I think it’s better to hire coaches that have been successful at a G5 then moved up for a while, eventually got fired like most coaches eventually do, and had to go back down to coach a G5. Some coaches just do better at the lower level without so much fan/donor pressure and dealing with the players with big egos because they know they’re good. At the G5 level, the players have something to prove as having been blown off by the better schools. And some coaches just thrive as being an underdog with something to prove.,

No though this could be an Alford at Iowa or Frank Haith at Mizzou situation, where he bolts before he get's fired.

That claim seems to be disputed right now

A lot of people will say that he should be engaging his players during HT.

A lot of ppl will say they are amazed at Timmy's ability to multi-task.

¿How many high profile folks like D-1A HC aren't the only person involved in their own Twitter Accts?

Patient... Lobos fans? They want the next coach to get them to at least a sweet 16... IN YEAR ONE!

Some Lobos fans will melt down as soon as they hear a hire has been made... and it isn't John Wooden! Lol

Aren’t the Lobo fans hoping for Pitino? 😂

Alot wanted and still want, Frank Martin or Greg Marshal, both are NOT gonna happen. Then Pitino, then Kyle Keller, then Damon Stoudemire, then Avery Johnson, then, if no one is left, Tim Miles or Michael Cooper.

Pitino is as good as gone, both sides know it and are probably coordinating the timing on making it official. Per Geoff Grammer Kyle Keller, Tim Miles, and Richard Pitino are 3 of the candidates and they are expected to offer around 4.5 mill for 6 years for the next head coach (sub 1 mil which isn't much these days). I think Miles and Keller would both be solid hires but not sure they can lure Keller.
