Hey New Mexico, McDermott is available.

Which McDermott? And just to let you know, we're currently looking at Pat Riley, and Phil Jackson, so...

I just gotta know where is there a saying that is common with non-racial implications mentioning staying or leaving a plantation.  It's just a weird thing to say, it doesn't make him a bad person.

And to those who act like Creighton is punishing him, LOL.  An indefinite suspension is a CYA move, no more, no less.  Relax.  He is still the coach, and he is still getting paid.  He ain't going anywhere.

Some plantations, more than a century ago were places where African Americans were forced to toil without pay.  Nowadays, the closest analogy would be the athletics departments of most colleges and universities.  Perhaps the mentioning of "plantations" hits a little too close to home for the administration at Creighton.  Best to not mention it lest people start making the  connection......

The PC police are lurking around every corner. If you’re a public figure these days it’s best to provide inconsequential responses or just keep your mouth shut. “No comment” is best when a reporter asks you anything remotely controversial.

People get roasted for that too.  It is best to articulate your thoughts properly, and remember the things your parents taught you in terms of how to speak in certain situations.  People act like watching what you say is recent, it is just that social media magnifies it all.  Just think if some of the legendary coaches were around today.  They would have been fired a long time ago.

Most people don’t articulate very well. Better to be roasted for not saying anything than being suspended or losing your job for making a misconstrued comment the PC police are ready and willing to hang you for. It’s sad, but we’re living in McCarthyish times.

I think Greg McDermott is getting treated horribly by Creighton!  This appears to be a one-time incident.

Gregg Marshall resigned from Wichita State in Nov.  If he learned his lesson, he'd be good for UNLV.

Knight went from Indiana to Texas Tech, so there’s precedent for a hardass coach to be rehired.

There's precedent for damn near every kind of coach to be rehired. If you're good at coaching, someone will take you on, albeit at a lower level. The only kinds of coaches that aren't rehired are either dead or in jail.
