@TheSanDiegan changing subject a bit, but couldnt find the "shoes/style" thread.

I'm looking at upgrading my winter shoes and here in Austria found an amazing brand (I think). I respect your knowledge on this shit, and was wondering if you've heard of Ludwig Reiter? The quality and style look amazing, but it is a hefty price...

I can't say I've heard of them, but I have several pairs of boots and the couple pairs of commando sole boots I checked out on their website are Goodyear welted which is the golden standard of construction (read: they can re-soled pretty much anywhere). And as a bonus, their 19th century roots are a win by any standard IMO.

Lastly, in my experience, I've always - always - regretted not buying something I was drawn to when the opportunity was ephemeral, and conversely, I have never regretted making the purchase in said occasions.

tl;dr:

What are your thoughts on the Aqua Terra for a diver style watch.

IMO it's the king of GADA (go anywhere-do anything) watches. If I was starting from scratch and purchasing just one watch, it would be an AT in one form or another.

Well with your and my gfs bad influence, I just bought 600 Euro legit comfy warm shoes lol.

But I definitely will be watching this company for a long time. Thanks for giving me the "goodyear" term that I threw out in my conversation with the sales associate!

Went to a cool vintage watch store here in Salzburg today. Owner finds old watches and restores them personally. Really interesting to see.

Wow. That's a lot of vintage goodness right there. So much vintage watch porn it's almost NSFW... So much vintage watch porn I'm surprised I didn't see a big hairy bush complication.

Another country, another watch! Finally found the black ceramic Tudor black bay and the GMT pro! Didn't like the pro, but really liked the ceramic.

I like the Tudor watches…I’m going to have to add them to my shopping list.

I finally got around to replacing the TAG that was stolen out of my car a few years ago. The updated Link has been getting some good press and had me wishing that I still had mine, so I had to remedy that.

Curious to know what the note on Hibiki says. :hmmm:I'm a fan of Suntory whiskies...

He says the Hibiki is really smooth and a great example of good Japanese distilling. He said the notes are from his wife. She doesn't like whiskey but tastes each new one he brings home and rights a review. He's keeping all the reviews as a little personal journal. Pretty cool IMO.

He sent me this pic next. He kinda reminds me of you with all your cool artifacts and art from around the world.

It’s a 2003. I always liked the black face with diamonds at the numbers. My first one was an engagement gift from my then fiancé and now ex-wife, so it’s probably for the best that it’s a different watch. 😁
