It’s not just Jan 6 where Republicans are trying to subvert an election.  What was once a fringe is now going mainstream.

It’s completely shameful, but I’m no longer surprised by stuff like this. This sort of thing may have eventually happened to the U.S.  anyway, but it’s hard to argue that the Twice Impeached, Four Times Indicted Orange Shitstain hasn’t imposed a tremendous cost on modern/civil society, what with him opening the floodgates to normalizing lying, embracing tenets of white supremacy, exploiting white collar corruptions, etc. In the process, he’s enlisted legions of followers that now don’t think twice about compromising any morals or ethics they might have, instead content to stomp on long-accepted societal norms, etc. just for the sake of hate and power…

In short, this motherfvcker has twisted the concept of our hard-fought democracy into something many of us no longer recognize. I’m not saying our Republic didn’t have (serious) problems pre-2016, but this turkey only cares about himself, the balance of America (and the world) be damned…

Still, I’m utterly convinced that, one way or another he’s going to have his day of reckoning. That much I’m sure. It’s the destruction that he’s left in his wake that I now fear.  People every bit as intent on destroying what took close to 250 years to build now gleefully wait in the wings for their own crack at anarchy…

So often we’re thought of how our leaders are perceived. The fact of the matter is that 45 is world-wide disgrace, as are his wanna-be successors. That much is clear and, sadly, doesn’t stand to change anytime soon…

Mark Meadow’s Motion to move Georgia election criminal case to Federal Court is DENIED by US District Court Judge Steve Jones. In his ruling, Judge said that Meadows had not met “… even the ‘quite low’ threshold for removal…”.

More ominous clouds brewing for all others who would try to file a motion to do same.  And the “noose” tightens a bit more for the Twice Impeached Four Times Indicted Orange Shitstain…

This is rhe new move when they don't like how an election turns out. States with heavily gerrymandered State Legislatures and often times veto proof majority will simply impeach duly elected officials.

Democracy is dying an agonizing death.

Many may celebrate a perceived return to more Conservative governance, however they are really turning the whole thing on it's head and burning it down to get the RW Authoritarianism world they crave.

First Jan. 6 rioter to breach the Capitol spent months regurgitating Trump's election lies

WASHINGTON — The very first rioter to breach the U.S. Capitol is on trial this week, with federal prosecutors laying out extensive evidence that he bought into and regurgitated the lies being spread by Republican politicians, some conservative news outlets and former President Donald Trump about his 2020 election loss.

Michael Sparks, who worked at an electronics and components plant in Kentucky before the Capitol attack, faces six charges, including felony obstruction of an official proceeding and obstructing law enforcement during a civil disorder. Sparks was the first rioter to enter the building, jumping through a broken window smashed in by Proud Boy Dominic Pezzola on the Senate side and then joining the mob that chased a lone Capitol Police officer up the stairs towards the floor of the Senate as members fled the chamber.

That ranks up there with the guy who robs the bank using his deposit slip as the note.
