Trump would have frozen to death in Stalingrad if he were around in nazi Germany.

He wouldn't have been drafted. Bad bunyons or ingrown toe nails, or something. But, he would have been in on the Grift. Would have used slave labor as well to build his hotels in conquered territories

Well of course. If a Capitol riot and Qanon can't keep Trump as President, why not try Lord of the Rings.

From the article link below:

Paul M. Davis, the Texas lawyer who was fired from his in-house counsel job after he recorded himself among a mob at the U.S. Capitol Complex on Jan. 6, has filed legal documents which set a new floor for legal embarrassment in U.S. jurisprudence. The documents employ a series of awkward references to — and ideas from — the temporary government of the Kingdom of Gondor in The Lord of the Rings.

Davis’s lawsuit bombastically attempts to assert that Joe Biden is not a legitimate president and that a rightful heir to that office will someday return. Until then, the case foolishly argues that a federal judge might be able to appoint a group of “stewards” from the cabinet of former President Donald Trump to run most of the government from the White House. That should occur, the lawsuit lawlessly speculates, after the Secret Service escorts Biden and his wife out of the executive residence at the order of a federal judge.

<snip>

A footnote explains the analogy:

During the course of the epic trilogy, the rightful King of Gondor had abandoned the throne. Since only the rightful king could sit on the throne of Gondor, a steward was appointed to manage Gondor until the return of the King, known as “Aragorn,” occurred at the end of the story. This analogy is applicable since there is now in Washington, D.C., a group of individuals calling themselves the President, Vice President, and Congress who have no rightful claim to govern the American People. Accordingly, as set forth in the Proposed Temporary Restraining Order, as a remedy the Court should appoint a group of special masters (the “Stewards”) to provide a check the power of the illegitimate President until this Constitutional Crisis can be resolved through a peaceful legal process of a Preliminary Injunction Hearing and a jury trial on the merits.

Former President Trump’s campaign had paid out more than $2.7 million to several individuals and firms behind the Jan. 6 rally in Washington that devolved into a violent insurrection at the Capitol, the Center for Responsive Politics reported on Friday.

Several organizers listed on the event permit granted by the National Parks Service (NPS) and posted online by the Center for Responsive Politics previously held positions within the Trump campaign or had ties to those who did.

Federal Election Commission filings show that the former president’s reelection campaign made payments to several of those individuals through Nov. 23, the most recent day for which financial disclosures are available.

Among those individuals listed on the permit was Maggie Mulvaney, a niece of former U.S. Special Envoy to Northern Ireland Mick Mulvaney, who resigned from his role after the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Maggie Mulvaney’s LinkedIn profile lists her current position as director of finance operations and manager of external affairs for the Trump campaign.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Mulvaney was paid at least $138,000 by the Trump campaign through last November.

Caroline Wren, who served as a national finance consultant for the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee’s joint fundraising operation, was also listed on the NPS permit for the rally as a “VIP advisor.” The Trump campaign paid Wren $170,000 from March to November.

Megan Powers, whose LinkedIn profile listed her as director of operations for the Trump campaign as recently as this month, was also among those whose names appeared on the permit. She was paid about $290,000 by the Trump campaign from February 2019 through November, according to the Center for Response Politics.

The largest recipient of payments from the Trump campaign was Event Strategies Inc., which received more than $1.7 million from the campaign and the former president’s joint fundraising committee.

That firm is owned by Justin Caporale, the Trump campaign’s advance director, and his business partner Tim Unes, who are listed on the rally permit as project manager and stage manager, respectively.

I hope he's right that he was wrong.

Is it over? Was the putsch more than most Trumpers really bargained for?

It was over.

It was as if millions of Americans went to bed after watching the riots on Jan. 6 and, upon waking up the following morning, realized exactly what happened. Realized what they had tried to do. Realized exactly what they almost did. Realized exactly who they were really enabling. They saw the photos of the gallows, the man with the zip ties, heard the shouts of “Hang Mike Pence,” and realized… it wasn’t just talk.

UPDATE ON THE LORD OF THE RINGS FILING:

The attorney now says in a new filing this morning that maybe there is a different remedy. He does want the court to know today about his lack of sleep and sewage problems though, maybe a play for sympathy:

"Counsel’s intense amount of sleep-deprivation, having to do the work of several attorneys, mostly alone, with a skeleton staff while being plagued with threats to his safety and an apparent act of vandalism at his home where someone stuffed bundles of wood and garbage into the drain sewer at his home causing a massive sewage backup,” he wrote. “Indeed, it is now 5:21 A.M. and counsel has not slept in an attempt to get more reasonable relief in front of the Court prior to the court opening at 9:00 A.M.

He now proposes different relief than his Lord of the Rings style request. He wants to declare all elections in November for President and Congress disputed. He wants a TRO to stop any new laws or executive orders until he has a month of discovery to prove the fraud.

"However, after getting a bit of rest and pondering it over the weekend, attached hereto is an Alternative Proposed Temporary Restraining Order (the “Alternative Order”), which does not seek to appoint any “Stewards” or similar but simply seeks to curb the power of a disputed Congress and President by limiting their  ability to enact new laws and policies while the litigation process of determining whether Plaintiffs’ allegations are supported by a preponderance of the evidence, and of course, pending an evidentiary hearing on Plaintiffs’ application for Preliminary Injunction.
Surely, no one can say it is unreasonable to wait another 14 to 28 days for the new Congress and President to implement their agenda for drastic policy changes while there is a real question as to whether they were legitimately elected in the first place. "
