you have to reach out to John Beilein first IMHO...then you reach out to Chris Jans.

We’ve had enough NMSU coaches fail in this league haha.

Marshall would be a great hire for UNM.

That would be a good fit. He would keep the players in line and win a lot of games. The Pit would love him.

Weir is contracted until 2023, but if he doesn't show SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT with his team this year (post season play or else), he'll really start feeling the heat here. But UNM won't s**t c*n him until at least the 2022 season... we just don't have the money to buy him out.

Maybe a chill environment like a Big West team.  Zero expectations, and you are in California with a decent salary.

I think the problem is that every year Marshall gets worse in his verbal (and perhaps physical) abuse).

USU is waiting in the MW tourney for Weir once more.

Marshall is a great coach but I wouldn’t touch him with a 10-foot pole after experiencing Sideshow Larry in Fort Collins. It ain’t worth the potential trouble.

If the allegations are true, he should never be the HC at a college program again, or maybe 10 years from now.

On one hand, he seems like a real piece of shit. On the other hand, he IS going to land another job somewhere, probably right after this season. So a school not considering him because of the allegations is just putting themselves at a disadvantage.

That seems absolutely crazy, how did he get an extension?

Are his results really any better than Neal's who was fired? New Mexico is too good of a program/fan base to get stuck with a bad coach.

Weir:

New Mexico Lobos (Mountain West Conference) (2017–present)
2017–18 New Mexico 19–15 12–6 3rd
2018–19 New Mexico 14–18 7–11 T–7th
2019-20 New Mexico 19–14 7–11 T–7th

Neal:

2013–14 New Mexico 27–7 15–3 2nd NCAA Round of 64
2014–15 New Mexico 15–16 7–11 8th
2015–16 New Mexico 17–15 10–8 T–4th
2016–17 New Mexico 17–14 10–8 5th
New Mexico: 76–52 (.594) 42–30 (.583)
