SJSU @ SDSU

MWC game of the week here.  Who would’ve thought we would be saying that last month.

Rooting for SJUS as they are the easiest team to root for in the MWC for obvious reason.  Expecting a large SDSU win.

Yep.  Always fun to cheer for the underdog, unless it's UNLV....phuck them :P

I don’t think the Spartans win. This is the kind of game you have to be able to run the ball and I haven’t seen that from us yet. I think the defense holds up for 3 quarters before breaking. Aztecs win 24-10.

A lights out performance by starkel and the receivers and forcing a couple TOs is the only way to win. But that will take real game planning from the coaching staff. That D is gonna go after the OPOW who was playing hurt last week. He's got a target on his back.

I think spartans keep it close even in a loss though.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

I am happy that the Spartans are doing well.  I still don't have a full confidence in how could SDSU is due to the opponents thus far, so this looks like the first test against a team with a solid passing game.

I am looking forward to good game Friday night.  As always SDSU ground game will dictate how the game goes, if the Aztecs run the ball like they have been they should be able to control the clock and game.  I think the Aztecs will be able to stop the run and make SJSU one dimensional forcing Sparty to throw the ball. I am truly interested to see what kind of pass rush the Aztecs can get.  Can the the DL get to the QB or will have they have to blitz and put the CBs on an island in man coverage.  I would expect the Aztecs to give some big chunk plays if they are blitzing a lot.

Also, I am not sold on Baker at QB yet, as he has not had to make plays to win a game, and I feel he locks onto to the first or second option to much and misses open receivers by not going through his progressions.

SDSU has dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball in both games this year. It's not by accident. We have legit talent and outstanding coaching in those positions. SJSU needs to match up or it will be a long day for them too.

The Aztecs have handled their business convincingly against suspect opponents. The defense will be tested, but, this years team seems nastier and more dominant than last on both sides of the ball.

Sparty will keep it interesting for 2 1/2 quarters. Aztecs D has given up 6 & 7 points respectively. What's next 8 ?

B)

Sparty will see the same defensive scheme and style as last week. The difference is Carson St is much bigger, faster, and athletic than NM.

Aztecs 37 - 15.

SUDS will win this game, although I hope they don't.

Just good to see SJSU on a winning course. Great coaching QB is solid possibly the best in the MWC.

Our guys will be ready-Hoke demands such.

Pancake time Josers- soon you get to meet the "Road Grader" and all 5 of our RB's.

Listened to SJSU weekly presser- they definitely know they need to establish the run and think they got a fair start on that process in the 4th qtr against NM.

https://sjsuspartans.com/news/2020/11/2/football-spartans-aztecs-battle-of-unbeatens-friday-in-carson.aspx

They are fully aware of the quality of our O line didn't make mention of the D Line (possibly better as a unit) and seem to believe they have our new scheme figured and will be coming after Carson ("Nice Porn Star Stash") Baker.

Seem confident of the passing game and the ability of their WR's to get open...

This club-similar to Lower Nevada- seems to love to play us and certainly seems confident.

Note- last time SJSU beat a SEC opponent their current QB was the QB at Arkansas.

Frankly I am more concerned with Nevada.

2-3 TD Win Aztecs!
