The fact that you guys brag about the star ranking of a transfer is laughable.  No disrespect, but they wouldn't have picked your school the first time around, and if they were as good as their billing indicated, they wouldn't be at your school now.

In all fairness, Alford was not Nevada's coach when Addison Patterson originally chose Oregon.  That cannot be ignored.

Also worth noting, if Patterson stays through his senior year, he will have been with Nevada for 4 years.

They wouldn't?  Nevada just had a 29 win team with Muss, and Boise produced a 1st round pick in 2018.

So what?  He wouldn’t have landed him.  Alford is a poor recruiter.

He did land him though, albeit as a transfer.

ESPN lists 2021 NV freshman commit Jalen Weaver as a 4 star..

Nevada doesn't generally get a lot of 4 or 5 star players but Alford has been pretty good at gathering enough solid players to win over 600 college basketball games..

Sherfield was a 4 star coming out of high school when he signed with Alford at UCLA..He had lots of high major offers then and when he left Wichita State and picked Alford twice..

Alford also landed this Lonzo Ball guy, who was the #2 overall pick in 2017

So what?  Only because he wasn't good enough for Oregon.

If he wasn't good enough for Oregon, they wouldn't have pursued him in the first place.  Talent is not the issue.

Patterson, and to a lesser extent Miles Norris in 2019, were both poised to make jumps in their sophomore years.  That a top-50 and top-75 recruit bolted the Ducks for Reno and Santa Barbara respectively, says props to Alford and Pasternack more than anything else.

Patterson and Norris will have their time to shine soon enough.

Since Dana Altman started recruiting at a really high level, basically every player who has transferred out has gone to a non-P5 school.  I think that says a lot.

And? Nevada will win with Alford just like it did with TJ, Fox and Muss.

And basically every HC who has lead the Vegas program post-rampant cheating has left there as what? I think that says a lot.

sounds like in ph's view, transfers don't count.  it only counts if the player came to your school first.  which means no credit to Alford for signing Patterson even if he produces or better yet, becomes an all-MW type player at Nevada.  That's foolish, but what can ya do??  It's a great get on paper for Nevada.
