smltwnrckr
2021, baybeee! Cuz we're gonna... Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

FresnoFacts
I say it is a tie between the 60s and now. In both cases, I blame the first half of the Baby Boom generation (the 1944-1954 cohort). I'm in the 2nd half of the generation so I'm not part of that group. That 1944-1954 birth cohort came into adulthood in the 60s and destroyed cultural norms in many ways. Now they are nearing the end of their run in power (and their lives) and are doing it again in different ways.

Should probably in there above 2020 but below that time we decided to go all genocidey.

Don’t forget the damage they did in the middle with senior management being all about themselves and off shoring jobs at a high rate.
