Where at the lake?

Not 100% sure yet. We were looking at the South Lake Tahoe area but open to wherever

I would highly recommend some diving. It’s a little chilly, but you’ll get used to it. This ain’t no synthetic man made Horsetooth Reservoir, this is the real deal made by Mother Nature herself.  The best diving spot is out in the middle of the lake. The bottom of the lake is really, really cool. You gotta check it out. You just dive in and go the opposite direction of up, and please do not get discouraged if it’s taking a long time. Nothing really easy is ever much a of satisfying experience, kind of like your ex-girlfriend. You just need to stay focused and tune out any distractions. If the oxygen tank beeping sensor reports to you that you’re getting low on oxygen, don’t listen to it. It’s fake news. Have a great time.

Tahoe is too busy right now because of Covid and Oct is a weird time because the weather is cool for the beach but there isn’t snow?!?

But South Lake is your best bet. Tons of bars and restaurants.

Hiking for best view of Lake is around emerald bay. You can hike the rubicon trail or to eagle falls. You can watch the salmon run at Taylor Creek (sorta boring as they’re not even native to the lake and look dead but still interesting.) You can hike to Cascade or Fallen Leaf lakes in that same area.

Best Brewery is Alibi in Incline. There are a handful of others in South Lake but they’re not great, IMO. But Basecamp has a courtyard thing with trippy hippy music that’s always interesting.

North Lake. Tahoe City is a cool little place. Have a wet woody at Garwoods. Go to Truckee and visit the downtown.

And if you are in shape and mtn bike. The flume trail Spooner to Marlette. The best view in the world. It’s not technical at all but you have to be in solid shape. I’ve done it at least once every year since 1996. 👍 Tons of cool places to bike near Truckee like Hole in the Ground.

Have fun.

Ha! You remember. That was a long time ago. I haven’t been to Downieville in a few years.

Of course you haven't.....you have no idea where you're going!

Thanks for the recs.

Alibi brewing was fantastic. One of the best breweries I’ve ever been to
