I understand their concern. But they should really do some research.  I don’t think she’s going to vote to overturn Roe or tear down the entire ACA. I think the mandate will go but that’s it. All of this is theater that will turn out to be unfounded fear.

I'd put money on the court upholding zoning laws and regulations that allow states to functionally outlaw abortion in all but the biggest cities and allowing states to ban receiving abortion pills. I'd consider that a functional overturning of Roe.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I would bet that it does. Not just cuz of her, but because of the three justices picked under Trump (one of whom I like).

What ACB should say to Booker about LGBTQ rights is that the House and the Senate needs to sexual orientation to Title 7.

They do this all the +++++ing time.  All of a sudden the stock market and unemployment rate are not good indicators of the economy when they were (or weren't) under the Obama years.

The threat of packing the court might be needed in order to get Republicans on the negotiating table.  I do think that court packing won't happen unless the SC makes multiple unpopular rulings ruling unpopular with Democrats.  But I think it's possible that some sort of court reform (such as long term limits) get enacted.  Perhaps a clarifications on the duties of when the Senate must vote on a President's appointment. (i.e. they must vote by XXX amount of time or it's an automatic confirmation)

Pretty sure this is what you meant.

I'll believe it when I see it. Sorry, but your confidence and the confidence of conservatives isn't reassuring. The most outspoken voices I've seen that agree with you also actively want abortions banned or heavily curtailed. One thing that isn't in question is that the court will get its chance. Get ready for another round of creative and not-so-creative attempts to undermine abortion rights in the next two years that will immediately work their way through the courts.

I don’t think the Republicans would have gone through this exercise of reshaping the judiciary for the last 40 years if they didn’t think there was a chance that this will happen once they reached their goal. I don’t believe Roe will be overturned, but the odds aren’t zero. and in the meantime abortion rights will almost certainly be getting a haircut.

They need to do a lot of legislating including just putting abortion rights explicitly in statute, putting gay rights in there, decriminalizing and descheduling marijuana.  The filibuster has to go away or "Jeff Sessions" Republicans will not allow these things through.

Sure, but that is you taking a position court watchers do not agree with.

ACB just absolutely shit on the democrats in the committee.  There was zero doubt today that her intellect towers over any democrat in politics in America (any Republican as well).

America is hitting a home run, thanks Trump.

And that is if it does not get tossed back to the lower court.

I would have much preferred if ACB didn’t look like she was sitting through a double root canal during the entire proceedings.  Like you said she was in control, relax a little.

No, unpopular with the American public.  Mainly only bigger social issues.  The court will continue to rule fiscally conservative, but it's unlikely it will get the American Public to lose faith in the Supreme Court -- but an overturning of gay marriage and abortion rights will cause at least 51% of the public to want SC reform.  That's all the Democrats need.

If the Democrats gets control of the Senate/House/President, I think this will happen regardless, yes.

Yeah she is impressive.  We shall see if her legacy is ending rights for women and gays.   Their is an old proverb “men marry women hoping they never change and they always do”.   We shall see what happens with ACB.

Her action with the pad today will be a meme for years to come.
