Criticism of Netflix "Cuties" is now right wing, QANON, racist, sexist BS?

Then where is Ted Cruz's outrage over Trump's well-established, longstanding ties to Epstein or his never ending well of well-wishes for Ghislaine Maxwell?

There is no underlying consistency behind the outrage; it wreaks of cultural war mongering.

The fact you think so is why this has become political.  What a hill to die on.

Some of us must be from a different time, because I agree with your take on a portion of this culture, but reject much of it.  It would explain why I was listening to a lot of Motown when I was in my teens when everyone was listening to strictly hip-hop and Kid Rock/Limp Bizkit/Linkin Park  :oldman:

I get that. I grew up in the 80s on a steady diet of punk, 2nd wave ska, and alt rock, but listened to a shitton of classical, jazz, Sinatra, or Johnny Cash depending on which grandparent with whom I was I was spending time. And guess which genres I tend to listen to now?

There will always be members of every generation who exist either as anachronistic throwbacks to the generations that preceded them.

But that doesn't change the fact the middle of the cultural bell curve has moved and at present is skewed towards narcissistic douchebaggery.

No, I think an informed opinion can be formed from reading reviews and talking to people who have watched it.  In fact, this is how most informed opinions are formed.

By doing so, you are informing yourself via the filters and preexistent bias of those upon whom you rely to inform you.

I always considered you to be someone who looks to the source.

Not when looking to the source increases the ratings for a product I do not think should exist.

The pertinent facts that are all I need to know, are readily available.  There are a multitude of close up, long length shots of of the buttocks, crotches, and breasts of 11 year olds.  An 11 year old exposes her breasts.

That is ALL I need to know.  Period.

What does presence of hypocrisy vis-a-vis the double standard by which Ted Cruz picks and chooses his villains whilst embracing others who perpetrate the same villainy have to do with the fact I find the sexualization of young girls to be disgusting?

I'm beginning to think you spent a day too long in the backcountry without proper hydration.

Anyway, according to your posts, the hill you'll choose to die on will be chosen by someone else.

I think Epstein changed things.  Cuties dropped during a time when outrage over child trafficking and exploitation was forefront of the zeitgeist.

Or a time when ordering a pizza turns into secret code for pedophilia rings.

Well, don't watch it. It's really that simple.

Maybe Netflix will come out with a PG version that we can all see to eventually inform ourselves. Like you, as-is I have zero desire to see it.

No, I need to shame people like you who will rally to Cuties because Ted Cruz said a thing.

But then who is going to shame those who are outraged merely because Ted Cruz told them to be?

I'm outraged because an attractive and charming girl on youtube told me to be.  See page 1.

And lord knows that if we’ve learned anything over the last few years it’s that a snippet on YouTube is enough to get the full context of any issue.

My point was that maybe shaming isn’t the way to go here, especially when nobody here is defending the content of the documentary.

Also, to your question about how these things become D vs. R: Read Cruz’s Tweet that tries to hang this documentary around Obama’s neck. The answer to your question is that it becomes polarized because that’s what those in power want to happen.

I have all the context I need.   There are a multitude of close up, long length shots of of the buttocks, crotches, and breasts of 11 year olds.  An 11 year old exposes her breasts.  What more context is needed?  Nobody here is defending the content?  Could have fooled me.

What a brilliant political move by Cruz. Get the left to rally to Cuties.  Make it seem like the democrats are the "Pro" Cuties party, while the Republicans are the anti Cuties party.  And the left is playing right into it.

So really, you’re all for it then? So why ask the question?

At any rate, good luck on your crusade here. Hope it goes better than pizzagate did.

Just curious have you ever been to a Dance recital?   A fair chunk of it is pretty cringe worthy.  But best not bring that up unless you want the wrath of moms.

I'm all for what?

I laid out in the OP the left needs to be careful about allowing the right to be painted as the anti child porn party.

Your defense is well noted.

Reading the articles you posted - that doesn't sound accurate.  Could it be your youtube personality stretched the truth to gain more views?

No, these things all happened.  Multiple review confirm it.  Many friends on social media who have watched it confirmed it.

Seem like censorship to me. But maybe I'm wrong.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Which politicians are Pro-Cuties? It's more a matter of Cruz making a big deal out of something that (if what you say is true) should not be allowed on Netflix (That would be Trump's FCC - not on Democrats).  If there were actual child abuses during the filming - that's a French legal issue - not an American one (unless Americans took part - but mostly looks like French director/producer/actors/etc.).  If Obama was secretly financing child pornography with George Soros' money and putting it on Netflix to satisfy Democratic perversions or something...than either you're Ted Cruz, or you've been spending too much time on Qanon Facebook.
