Anyone Here Cruise the Dark Web?

Recommended Posts

How do you know he “accidentally” clicked a link and that this wasn’t him being a creeper over a period of time? That’s the only part I’m doubting.

In my cohort at BSU there was a dude arrested for child porn in the last semester. One of the brightest kids in the class with a pretty good internship that was supposed to become a job post graduation.

Then one day he was missing from all the classes and his teary-eyed mugshot on Ada County’s website. Still ended up graduated but don’t think he was ever able to land a job In the field because of it.

It's always possible, but he was able to show them what he was doing and how he accidently clicked on a link without being more careful. I suppose the amount of time spent on that link was a factor. If it was an accident, it would've re-directed instantly. If he was checking stuff out, the time on that link would've been consistent with that. This happened a while ago, about 2001.

Then you absolutely are so smart that a $1,000 bet would be easy money for you. Let's do it.

By the way, "years ago" in the early days people that didn't have virus software or not good enough could get their computer hacked and pedophiles would load photos onto your computer without knowing it, and they would never have them in their possesion to avoid prosecution. There was a guy at IBM that took a loaner used laptop and it didn't have the newest virus software. He turned his laptop over to IT because it was running slow and they found the photos. He was fired, prosecuted, thrown in prison, lost his marriage, house, family, all his friends and family thought he was a pedophile. Finally a forensic team went through the computer and proved that it was hacked. He eventually got his conviction overturned, but his life was ruined. I hope your genius IT skills didn't ruin some poor chaps life with a hacked computer.

I did what was required of me. I reported it to the authorities, I cloned the hard drive and locked it up along with the computer itself, and I waited to hear back from them. We provided it to them when they requested it, and they asked me to testify as to what was found on the computer, and what we did to preserve the evidence. It had absolutely nothing to do with my "skills", and everything to do with me following the rule of law as required.

So. TOR, which is what most people typically associated with the "dark web", wasn't even created until 2002, and wasn't truly available for people to use until 2006, and really basically 2007. I2P was another one that is/was used, but it didn't come out until 2003-2004. Freenet came out in 2000, but wasn't really all that usable until the late 00s.

Again though, with any of those applications, the endpoint, the website, and more than likely to originating network would have had to be under surveillance for your claims of a one hour response raid by the FBI to be even remotely believable.

LOL, it was actually about 45 minutes to an hour. We were about 10 minutes from the Vegas FBI facility. This was Las Vegas, read the news, this happens. It was fairly long odds that the FBI happened to be monitoring the same ped site out of Vegas, but it happened. If you want to make a big wager worth the trouble, I'll email some friends that were there and they'll tell you it happened, and I'll get their permission to post their emails. How much? $1,000?  If you don't think you can accidently click on a wrong link on the dark web, then you don't know what you're talking about.

I'm always game for easy money, so if any of you other dorks want to make a large bet, let's do it. I'll even donate half of it to charity when I win.

Got a question contard. How would you prove these "friends" are real?

As wacked out as you are I'm guessing you have a hundred or so email accounts already available to carry out your master plan. Dork.

It wasn’t an FBI raid like you’re stereotyping from the movies you’ve seen. It was about 3 to 4 agents that just quickly walked right in, informed the store manager who they were and wanted to see who’s been on their computers. I can’t say for certain it was exactly the Dark Web as we know it, but it was obviously in a pretty skanky neighborhood of the internet. Like I said, you can blab about how smart you think you are, but you’re obviously not smart enough to put your money where your smarty mouth is.

That’s a great theory, but I’m actually still good friends with these guys and whenever I’m in Vegas (which ain’t often) and we go have a few, somehow that always comes up and we get a good laugh out of Phil, our drafter back then.

It's hilarious the way some of you are so resistant to accepting the existence of new things that you aren't aware of if someone you don't like points them out to you. LOL, grow up.

For you kiddies that think the Dark Web is akin to believing in Santa Claus, here's some reality for you:

https://vpnoverview.com/privacy/anonymous-browsing/dark-web-websites-worth-visiting/

This is great, from the article:

"Watch out that you do not click on a link to something you do not want to see, because the Hidden Wiki doesn’t just index legal websites. In fact, there are many different “Hidden Wiki” sites out there. The Hidden Wiki used to be known for hosting, or at least, indexing a bunch of pedophile websites and has therefore been the subject of cyberattacks by the FBI and Anonymous.

Yes Obi Wan, thank you so much for teaching me about the Dark Side Web.

Yes, I'm totally going to put up $1,000 in a bet over something that could only be "proven" via anecdotal evidence. Hell, your story has changed since you originally posted it.
