Boise State's revised football schedule

Recommended Posts

With yesterday's news about the 2020 football MWC schedules it seems the following is clear.

1.  The Air Force game, originally scheduled for Sep. 12 at the AF academy field, will HAVE to be rescheduled.

2.  The only open date on the Boise State schedule is October 10th.

3. Air Force is scheduled to play San Jose State that week.

4. The only open date on the Air Force schedule is the week of Halloween (Oct. 31)

5. Boise State is scheduled to play U.N.L.V. that week.

All of this leads me to believe that the Boise State AT Air Force game will have to be rescheduled to after the traditional end of season games, i.e., on December 5th.   Especially considering that Air Force will absolutely not change their scheduled games against Army and Navy.

So it would APPEAR that Boise State's 2020 football schedule will likely be the following:

Sep. 25 (Friday) -  AT Marshall in Huntington, W.V.

Oct. 3, (Sat.) - Home vs. San Jose State

Oct. 10 (Sat.) - BYE week

Oct. 17 (Sat.) - Home vs. Utah State

Oct. 24 (Sat.) - AT Hawaii

Oct. 31 (Sat.) - Home vs. U.N.L.V.

Nov. 6, (Fri.) - Home vs B.Y.U.

Nov. 14 (Sat.) - AT New Mexico

Nov. 21 (Sat.) - AT Wyoming

Nov. 28 (Sat.) - Home vs Colorado State

Dec. 5 (Sat) - AT Air Force

The same day as the MWC CCG.  Which may be moved, but to open up space for potential reschduled games, not simply to convienence Boise.

Schedules are interconnected.  Nobody in the MWC will have the same schedule.  Took the ACC almost 2 weeks to re-do theirs.

MWC letting the other conferences be guinea pigs and start earlier.

wear your mask and save football

the 9/26 start also creates a common start date so opponents have the same or similar Pre-Conference experience (ie a team that played in early Sept)

This is bullshit. Other teams are rescheduling and dropping games left and right but Boise gets penalized for trying to find a game closer to home.

Your extortion fee from the MW should cover that fee.

Perhaps, if your AD we're a better negotiator,

a: The cancel fee would not have been in the contract.  Or,

b: Your AD gets on the phone with Marshall and renogiates the game

Or, is this just a case of crybaby Boise exceptionalism ?

Boise should get 50% of the T.V, revenue this year.  Fox agrees.

If 50% of Fox MW TV games feature Boise, that's fair.

If your only on once, you should get that % of the TV revenue pie.

Nah, Boise football was the only property Fox wanted or cared about.  We should get all the money from that contract and the other MWC teams can split the CBS contract.

We should get all of the FOX contract and 33.3% of the CBS contract. The 33.3% is because someone will actually watch a game on CBS Sports Network if Boise State is playing.

You still haven't explained your AD'a inability to get around the cancel fee.

Petty problems for petty Athletic programs.

Who says who won't can't?  Tons of time to do that.

Enjoy the welfare Boise gives the conference and be grateful.

I wasn't the one complaining about the 500k penalty.

Ibanez was and now you're acting as his defense attorney.
