It depends, I would agree as related to healthy competition and innovation, but disagree when governments pick winners and losers.  A good example was NASA opening up competition, Space X is schooling Boeing.  More disruption is needed, particularly in Government and Government funded endeavors. We have a thread about disruption in higher education, and some intelligent people on this board are closed minded to change.

"We want free markets but not these ones where the consumer has so much power.”

"Peaceful protesting is great and all but not like that.”

That ad is going to go down as one of the most idiotic of all time.

Try going without goods or services a corporation produces for any length of time- You will be miserable. The reason Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Exxon etc all have billions of dollars in assets is because society places a high amount of value in what they produce.

Sounds like extortion

Not buying Gillette is cancel culture. Just despicable. What is this country turning into?

I own a vehicle likely worth more than everything you own combined and just flew first class (including a ticket for a 2 1/2 year old), round trip to Las Vegas and I'm not 35 yet. When you accomplish something outside of finishing a book, let me know. When's the last time you saw a 2 year old fly first class in their own seat? Don't tell me about elite.

I don’t give a +++++ about corporations. I hope they all go belly up. They provide nothing of value to society. CEOs are the real welfare queens.

Why do you feel this way? Is it all corporations or just ones of a certain size. Most businesses, big and small, are incorporated.

No, that is the great thing about capitalism! The consumer is more empowered than in any other economic system. If Ford and Dodge build junk vehicles they can reward companies that offer a better value Like Toyota. Consumer wins! This is Why socialism would be an absolute disaster. It takes power away from common people like you and me.

^^^ Text Book example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect.

Obviously you do not understand anything about corporations, or what value they provide to society.   Yet you make broad, misinformed statements on the topic.

Stunner, what do you think the dunning Kruger effect is?

Shaving away profits: Gillette cut by $8B loss after 'toxic masculinity' ad.

Many consumers now believe Gillette is “the [worst] a man can get,” after running its “toxic masculinity” commercial berating men as too manly and as sexist bullies and rapists as part of its social justice campaign in the wake of the #MeToo movement, costing the Proctor & Gamble’s personal product division $8 billion after the ad aired in the beginning of the year.

Yeah I think Harry's and dollar shave club had more to do with that than an ad

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

I do too. The razors are just better. Stay sharper longer,  less burn.

IIRC the shaving cream commercial during the Super Bowl was basically "teach your boys not to bully and be mindful that not all girls like to be cat called".  Right?

The horror.

It was a good commercial.
