Primary night

Tuberville beats Sessions, who was one of the first senators to endorse Trump, because Session actually followed the law and appointed an independent prosecutor.  Instead of standing up like a man Sessions groveled at Trumps feet and got kicked in the teeth.   Now he doesn’t have the nomination or his pride: Pathetic.

Tuberville wouldn't debate Sessions, but he won't be able to refuse debating Doug Jones.  A coach debating a smart lawyer (Doug Jones) will make him regret he won the primary.

Perhaps.  It’s Alabama....   it was mostly entertaining watch that sniveling Sessions grovel at Trumps feet only to get his teeth kicked in repeatedly.  It’s one thing to lose an election, it’s something else to lose an election and your dignity all in one fell swoop.

This is great and most incumbents and in this case, previous incumbents should be primaried out regularly.

Any senator that is in longer than 2 terms is mostly in there for themselves.

Also to note - there are 55 members in the House that have been there 20 years or more.  Ridiculous.

I don’t think long time incumbents losing just for the sake of change is inherently good if the incumbent is still serving their constituents. But I agree that primaries are a good thing; forces people to stay in touch with what their districts expect from their reps, and the second they don’t they get voted out. Well that’s how it SHOULD work, anyway.

They completely lose touch after awhile and they more likely end up serving their big money donors than the majority of their constituents.  They spend a lot of time campaigning and raising money.  And they pretty much don't have any new ideas that will be worthwhile, such that they end up retreading their old policies.   And for most people, they end up just knowing the incumbants name which makes it harder for new people to get in ,  and both parties actively help support the incumbent over primary rivals as well.
Its a rigged system that they themselves help perpetuate.

Most people walk in to Congress on day one ready to serve big money donors, that’s hardly something unique to long serving members.

But yea, I’m all for primaries. Just not change for the sake of change.

Chris Ault should run for a Senate seat in Nevada.

Tarkanian's name didn't help Danny win.......oddly it took Danny moving up to Douglas County where he just barely won a County Commissioner Seat

Doubt Ault could win because outside of Reno/Sparks few know who he is - at least couldn't use his name recognition

Vegas wanted to hire him...the real players in Vegas know him...and he can run on the fact he's in the College Football Hall of Fame....that'd get him ...ummm never mind ...Vegas people don't care about football.
