Boise State is in the prestigious Orlando Invitational with Gonzaga (1) and Michigan State (7) over Thanksgiving as part of a field that also includes Auburn (27), Xavier (47), Saint Louis (49), Belmont (101) and Siena (151).

The Broncos also have known nonconference road games at Texas A&M (113), BYU (9), Rhode Island (57) and Cal State-Northridge (233), and home games against Tulsa (78), Santa Clara (145) and Northern Colorado (100).

Schedule is looking solid as well. (NET ratings in parenthesis from last season)

That's a great schedule. Only one team outside of the top 200 and all others 151 or better.

Terrific news. This will be by far the most athletic team of rice’s tenure (assuming the season happens). Do have some questions about the shooting but otherwise big talent.

Oh yeah, not even close.  Boise has never fielded a team that will look like this one.

Doubt UNLV will be able to keep either game within 20.  They simply do not have the talent.

This is Boise's most talented team ever but most of the pieces are new and only two of the projected starters played last year. We'll have to see how the players gel. It might not happen right away, especially if they lose a few early games against less talented teams.

Rice has always preferred an uptempo offense, now he has the players to execute it. This team will score a lot of points, but will they play defense? Three months until official practice starts and four months until the season starts. Will the virus be under control by then? Not likely. Hopefully a vaccine will be available by January and we will be watching spring basketball.

The million dollar question. Just look at new Mexico under coach Weir. Takes more then a bunch of individual raw talent to win at team sports.  Last years Utah state LSU game was the shining example. LSU was far more athletic at every position.   But Utah state, I believe without queta, played as a team and won the game.

Great news, the MW should be pretty good in basketball this year. CSU, BSU, SDSU, UNLV, and CSU all are potential tournament teams IMO.

This is true, but the four transfers all have multiple years of D-1 playing experience and all have been playing with the team for a year now. Kigab was able to come in and contribute immediately after sitting out a year. He was widely considered the weakest of the incoming transfers.

New Mexico's problem is that they couldn't keep their teams together. Whether it be transferring out, suspensions, or getting kicked off the team. They've had no consistency
