Rogers is gone

Biggest bust in UNLV history? I truly wish him well and congratulations on being a graduate.

Guy's an excellent athlete who made a big mistake choosing UNLV. Probably too late but I'd love to see somebody give him get a shot at a different position. Maybe WR if he can run routes and has decent hands.

He is a great athlete, and UNLV may have failed him due to Sanchez sticking with the QB coach he brought from Gorman HS until the very end.  But Rogers was given much more opportunity to play at UNLV than he would have at most other schools, because Sanchez stuck with Armani Rogers even after he struggled year after year with accuracy and decision issues.  His career was similar to another recent UNLV QB, Nick Sherry, who had a decent freshman first half season then from that point on opponents seemed to have him all figured out.

Ultimately the great disservice that Sanchez did to Rogers' career was to bring him in for one play in a game late last season (SJSU I think).  Up to that point Rogers had a good case for the season being written off to injury (he played in the first four games, was injured for several more, then appeared to be a "healthy scratch" most of the rest of the way).  So he probably only has one season left to play although he really should have two.

UNLV had several QBs in recent years who were willing to change positions to get on the field (Caleb Herring, who eventually returned to QB and led the Rebels to a bowl; Johnny Stanton, who played LB, blocked a field goal attempt, and is now in the NFL with the Vikings as a FB; Dalton Sneed, who played some WR then went to JUCO then Montana to be Bobby Hauck's star QB for two seasons).... but the word around UNLV is that Armani Rogers wasn't like those guys, only saw himself as a QB.

He's been on campus 4 years (2016-19).  Didnt matter if he played in a 5th game.  He's only got 1 year of eligibility left unless he can obtain a medical hardship to get a 6th year, which is a dicey proposition.

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Has UNLV had even one of its QBs since Randall Cunningham actually take a snap in an NFL game? There probably have to be a couple but I sure don't know who they might be. So despite Rogers having been given plenty of playing time, was he coached up? Uh, doubtful.

Only 2 UNLV QBs have ever played in the NFL.  Cunningham and the immortal Glenn Carano.

Never had a 1st rd pick.

The medical hardship is a possibility if you play in four or fewer games then are injured and never return to playing status, so Rogers had a solid case until he returned to the field.

Former UNLV QB Kevin Thomson arrived at UNLV two years before Rogers and was on Bobby Hauck's final team in 2014.  After several injury-waivered seasons and a stop a Sacramento State he still has one season left and will be a grad transfer to Washington this fall.

UNLV haven't even had the same QB start all 12 games in a season in over 20 years---it's been a cursed position.

Ohio Bobcats.

That is a fantastic place for him to land. Weak defensive conference and Solich is a solid coach who knows how to use a running QB. I think he'll have a very good year

True, but Caleb Herring entered the 2nd game in 2013 midway through the second quarter and then I'm pretty sure started the next 11 games of that season if you include the bowl.
