I was in San Jose a year or two ago for a wedding. I went to dinner with some friends and the plan was to stay out for a few drinks. Restaurant closed at 8, so I asked the bartender if he had any recommendations.  He said basically everything closes early. I was shocked, and asked, “There’s a university here, and you’re telling me there’s nowhere to go?”. He said, “Yeah, there’s nothing to do here. They all go to San Francisco or somewhere else”. We walked around, and sure enough the place was a ghost town. So we all had drinks in a hotel room. What a boring ass city.

It's small, but Downtown Los Gatos isn't bad.

Fort Collins.  Like a smaller Boise.  Close to Denver.

Guess you've never been to Ft Fun.

Cultured like Gouda: soft, easily manipulated, and smelly.

Soft and easily manipulated?  10 people from Fresno would absolutely cave the heads in of 30 people from any AAC shit hole.  Soft?  You are an idiot.  Soft?  There are more callouses on the hands of Fresno metro residents than in the entire state of Florida.  They do smell like shit, though.

Guess you have never been to Boise, that was a huge compliment.

Watched the 2018 Border War at White Dog the last time I was in town.

Then you should know Boise is a far better city in every way shape and form.  Far better downtown, a trout stream running in the middle, a Ski hill right on the edge.  You can fly fish, ski and golf in one day in Boise and our downtown blows fort fun out the damn water.  No comparison.  You are the small dick version of Boise.

While Fresno isn't for everyone and obviously isn't the best city, there are many positives. It's a very community based and small town feel even for a city of 500k. Great place to raise a family with Clovis unified being one of the best school districts in the state. You can see the ocean and snow all in one day. We grow over 400 different types of crops and have the best and most fresh produce vs. anywhere in the world. But I think what makes Fresno and Central California special is the people. Very down to earth blue collar people that work their asses off.

Oh, and we have the #1 tailgating scene in the Mountain West. No question about it.

¿Since when is #71 "one-of-the-best" school dists in Calif?

¿Did my childhood school district break-up?  ¿What happened to the SoBay Union School Dist?  ¿Why are #18-Redondo Beach, and #22-Manhattan Beach listed separately?

I don't know anything about "small dick(s)."  ¿Can you enlighten us?

Fresno's a horrendous place to drive through, let alone live. Other than dogsnake, a lot of dim individuals living in the valley and visiting this board. The wonder twins, lil train and Cincy, pretend the board doesn't affect them, yet we just witnessed a Houdini act from this thread's author.

That all said, Spartan nation enjoys the dogs presence in this conference also. Our annual win against these one time rivals is always enjoyable, even if we have to do it in that leaky, cracking, smelly stadium located in lil Liberia.

Come on man.  Give the BIG Valley folk a break.  There are a few redeeming qualities.

For example, the In-&-Out north-of-town on Shaw is close to Rte-99.

Lol, Boise is considered one of the best cities in the country.

Name someone outside of the Gem State or eastern Oregon who's ever said that.

I didn’t have much of a choice.  It wasn’t what it was cracked up to be, let me just say that.  I’ve never seen so many angry people.  I think it’s only gotten worse too.

Work took me P'land a bunch in 2017 & 2018.  I enjoyed it every time.  Way better than Seattle!

Portland gets that much snow? I think your best bet for consistent work would be to stay in Alaska.

Stay safe out there!

Just to clearly point out the hypocrisy, there are dozens of beaches way closer to UCF than any of those things to their respective MW cities.

Orlando is 100 miles from the beach

San Jose is 30 miles from the beach

Hawaii - enough said

San Diego - enough said

Fresno is 100 miles from the beach (i guess we can call Fresno a beach city just like Orlando)
