Abed may have been onto something in Community when he said he couldn't let go of the idea of parallel timelines, some darker than others. Sure, there's an explanation to be had with Schroedinger's equation within the logic of the show and the dice roll that created those universes, but researchers believe they've found evidence of the potential for a parallel universe in high-energy particles found in Antarctica.

Well, it does vibe with the sinking feeling that I'm living in the dumbest f*cking timeline ever.

There are practically infinite timelines according to the shroedinger equation. Not sure how it's possible to determine these particles are from another one though but intriguing event to be sure.

Someone explain to me the concept of time running backwards. That seems inherently impossible.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

No more impossible than believing, if one studies the history of religion predating Jesus of Nazareth, that what I was taught as being original concepts advocated by the man were actually original.

if it is possible, think of it less "forwards and backwards" and more "the other way". In most physics equations, the sign of time doesn't matter to the equation. That said time flowing the other way doesn't seem to make sense for the second law of thermodynamics (entropy).

Our understanding of time doesn't seem to be as far along as other areas. Our best physical models are more like movies - many stages of discrete blocks of a stationary universe.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

I could never wrap my head around this shit, for the most part. I still couldn't tell you what spacetime is. Though I haven't tried to really read about it in like 15 years.

If you read about physicists arguing they haven't really wrapped their head around it either so don't beat yerself up over it

Quantum stuff like superposition is wacked out. The speed of light (nature's speed limit) being so slow in relation to the size of the universe is wacked out.  Both of these would allow not "rendering" all the parts of the universe all the time in a simulation and that would benefit God's data plan.
