Fresno State Online Fall Classes

Recommended Posts

The University President told students, faculty and staff this week that they have not decided yet but they are still looking at 3 options:

  1. Fully in-person classes
  2. A mix of in-person and online classes
  3. Fully online classes

He said the least likely option will be fully in-person.

The final decision is supposed to be made in mid to late May.

Looks like any chance at fall football being played in the MWC will be with the SECMountain schools doing a scheduling agreement with Utah, BYU, Colorado and the Arizona schools.  WA and OR will take their lead from California I would think.

Nevada, Colorado, California, Oregon, and Washington, are all in an agreement to take the same stances on this actually.

Makes sense.  Nix Colorado from the scheduling agreement then.  The SECMountain schools, The Arizona schools, BYU and Utah.  Could make for a really fun football season.  No fans in the stands or an allotment of say 5k max + suites with a max of 5 person per suite would be fun.  It would take a lot of luck though.

old wac + new wac

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

CSUs Pres announced a 3-scenario plan o' action this-past-wk as well, that broke out a lil' differently:

#1 - On-Campus/On-Time Fall '20

#2 - On-Campus w/mid-Semester Fall'20 Start

#3 - On-Campus w/Jan '21 Start^

^ I'm not sure, but assuming #3 included a Fall '20 On-Line courses

I heard a rumor there isn’t  going to be any physical in class attendance this fall? Can a Fresno State fan confirm? If that’s the case it pretty much dooms MWC football this fall.

Probably. This won't be going away anytime soon.

My wife works for the university, my impression is that it will be online...she has been asked to prep for such a situation.

here are the numbers for Fresno county. Assuming a shutdown IMO is waaaaay premature.

It’s a joke. You have a much bigger chance of dying in a car accident.

If you compare it straight across, you are right. Yet, people still assume the risk of driving. Especially kids in their late teens/early twenties who have a far greater risk dying from driving than dying from the virus.

Wel no, still not right.  38,000 people a year die in all motor vehicle related deaths.  We are already at 71,000 COVID deaths with 60,000 of those in under a 6 week period, with drastic measure being implemented.

So, based on that interstate agreement, that means that CSU, AFA (probably), Fresno, SDSU, San Jose, UNLV, and Reno can't do a football season.   (SUCKS)

That would leave the following:

PARTICIPATING FROM THE MWC

WYO

UNM

BOISE

USU

PARTICIPATING FROM THE PAC12 (Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Wazzu, USC, UCLA, Cal, Colorado and Stanford ( @StanfordAggie  ) all out)?

ARIZONA

ASU

UTAH

REGIONAL INDY

BYU

NMSU?

I agree.  It could be a fun season.

Probably won't happen.

UTAH walks on eggshells around the PAC12, and doesn't dare offend the conference bosses (just happy to be there).  Their administration will follow the conference to show unity.

ASU and ARIZONA---they are more of a wildcard, but probably will still toe the party line.

it would be an honor for BYU to assist the University of Wyoming with their scheduling difficulties for the 2020 season.

A BYU vs WYOMING game would be hard to keep fans away.... BYU fans are hungry for a Cowboys game in Provo.
