Active NFL players for each MW school

Recommended Posts

SEC Mountain leading the way! Also interesting that BYU's number puts them in the bottom half of the conference.

Surprising to see both Utah State and Wyoming so high.

Not sure if this is active rosters last year plus 2020 draft picks, or what...

Wyoming and USU have had some nice players running through their programs in recent years.

Interesting that the 3 Cali schools are so close together. Same with Reno and Vegas.

When Ault left Nevada had like 17-18 players in the league. That’s gone south in a fat hurry.

Barf...don't like being grouped with Vegas in anything.

But the sad truth is without Ault as our coach, our football program is basically the same as UNLVs.

Also this list is very generous, and must include practice squad players. Nevada only had 4 active in the NFL last season, and didn't have anyone drafted or even sign a FA deal.

Edit: I assume they're using this link. Looks like Nevada added Wes Farnsworth and Ramiz Ahmed to FA deals.

And the very best player by a wide margin from any MW program in the league... Bobby Wagner.

Its pretty surprising that an FBS school (that’s not a military academy) would have only 3 players in the NFL.  Speaks to the talent that UNM has recruited and developed the past decade.

I’m surprised Hawaii doesn’t have more and even more surprised Air Force has more than 1.

When Rocky was the head coach UNM put O-Linemen in the NFL regularly. All that ended with the Locksley and Davie regimes.

Bwagz Accomplishments since he came into the league for the 2012 season

1st Team All Pro: 5x

Pro-Bowl: 6x

SB Champ: 1x

These are first ballot HOF type accomplishments. You think Allen is a first ballot HOF?

You'd have to color me very surprised if Josh Allen ever comes remotely close to matching those accomplishments. He better start soon, though Wagner is going to turn 30 this year, ancient for a LB.

Demarcus Lawrence says you are silly.  LVE will likely top Wagner in every way when his career is done,  LVE is a more talented, faster, Brian Urlacher.

Love me some DLaw, but he still can’t hold a candle to BWagz. Never made an all pro team. LVE needs to stay healthy.
