Why does the clown in chief keep touting unproven treatments?

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/04/06/trump-drug-coronavirus-hydroxychloroquine-170543

A randomized study was just released from a very respected doctor in China, and the 1,000 patients that were admitted to the hospital in bad condition with many having pre-existing conditions and many very old, they were given HydroCL and Z Pack and 993 recovered, only 7 died. That’s a 0.7% death rate for the very worst of the sick. That’s fvcking amazing. Even cheese ball Dr. Oz is clamoring about it and saying that treatment should no longer be referred to as anecdotal. It’s proven.

Dr. Wallace at Cedar Sinai in LA is the national expert on Lupus and other autoimmune conditions. He has nearly 2,000 patients on HydroCL 365 days a year. In his 40 years of practice, a mild stomach upset and a rash were the worst side effects. At the doses taken for C19, he stated the risk is nil, nothing. He said it’s a joke that the media and politicians are making it out to be the boogie man.

Most of the resistance is Trump liking it and Dems rebelling, and the other is drug companies. There’s no money to be made with these, they’re just a few bucks. The drug companies want a new sexy drug to rule the market so they can make gazillions.

Unless you are referring to a different study - and wouldnt mind sharing it - It was 62 patients, and it has not been peer-reviewed.

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

So based off that study you are good with the president going on national TV in America and pitching this to his low IQ base?   These people by and large probably don’t believe the FDA should exist because guberment is bad and will tend to believe anything Nacho says.

Have they ever tested how much political ideology impacts the placebo effect?

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

It doesn't really matter what Trump's low IQ base think about the drug.  They can't get it without a doctor.

I think it is very odd how this drug has become some sort of referendum on Trump.

Why do you think that's odd? This entire thing has become a referendum on trump. Much to his encouragement Nd glee.

He needs to not feel the need to act like a medical expert and let his team do their jobs.

He is the president, so the response is naturally a referendum.  Focusing in on this one drug as if Trump sinks or swims based on its efficacy is odd.

Is he not letting them do their jobs?  Trump is Trumping.....whatever.  The anti Trumpites are running around screaming hair on fire over his comments on this drug.

I like how trump can just spout something off the top of his head, and if he winds up being right, trumpers will all see it as proof of his genius, but if he’s wrong, they’ll forget it ever happened.

If this drug ends up working, fantastic. But it won’t be because trump said it would. It will be because medical professionals who actually know what they’re doing will have rigorously tested it and proven it effective. Trump needs to shut his pie hole until then.

He has proven repeatedly thought this process the gravity of the situation won’t stop him from talking out of his @$$.  Anything medical should come from experts.  Or are you good with him opining about miracle cures during his “briefings”

His bsing is also causing the drug to be in short supply for people that actually need it. The man loves nothing more than the sound of his own voice.

Convert if it works in a proven study then great.  Last I checked no doctor was doing their best to not help their patients.   Meanwhile, why don't you expound on your medical training and experience with medical studies including your understanding of the potential side effects of said treatment.
