This may also lead to vaccines for other corona viruses.  The common cold may become a thing of the past.

You fools! All this means is it will mutate into the horrifying uncommon cold!

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Also good news for getting back to school, Liberty U was widely chastised for bringing students back after Spring Break but there were no new cases of Covid traced back to the 1200 students on campus. 1 new case among students and a few employees with contract tracing to off campus source. Not widely reported but noted by the WSJ. Hopefully this will help guide schools on reopening this Fall.

The everyone would have died if we hadn't stayed at home line of argument is getting pretty frail at this point.

The people who spread the fearporn, including a great many on this board, are refusing to admit they were wrong about the whole thing.

We will have between 100k and 200k dead this year alone from this virus, and that was with trying to minimize the damage as much as possible with a shutdown from coast to coast for months.  I think it's easy to see it could have been many times worse had we not taking these actions as a society.  I'm not sure what you mean by right or wrong.  It looked pretty scary to me in March for the older citizens, and still does now.

I’m the first to admit that hindsight is 20/20.  The measures taken were based on a LOT of unknowns and some pretty bad models that were estimating millions of deaths without the broad sweeping actions taken.  I understand why we did what we did...  BUT, based on what we’ve seen in the US and abroad I tend to think the baby was thrown out with the bath water a bit.  This virus isn’t as deadly as feared and there’s a very specific profile it poses a huge risk to.  Had we known in January what we know now we could have probably weathered the storm just fine with far less draconian measures.  But like I said, hindsight is 20/20 - no blame or finger pointing here.

Hey guys I passed a Dyatlov Pass article that was on the BBC to thelawlorfaithful. He suggested I let folks know I’m fine. Things are good with me. Been pretty much in self-isolation since the order came down in CA. I’ve found that my mental health is best maintained through exercise, yoga, minimal news, and staying away from a few of the wing nuts on here. Fortunately my retirement allows this. Anyway, see you on the other side.
