Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

It's really hard to comprehend a world "leader" being this fvcking stupid, but with doozies like this coming out seemingly daily Trump proves he's up to that particular task...

And what the actual +++++ is a quarantine going to do at this late stage?

Florida is also requiring people coming in from Louisiana to isolate for 14 days. Is he talking about a quarantine there also?

No?

The primary reason that this sort of approach appears unthinkable in the United States is the same one that limits options to expanding health care and lowering the cost of university education: Wealthy Americans have proved adept at shielding themselves from taxation.

This  is how ridiculously stupid Trumpistan can be. The one guy that is giving this administration any sort of cred in this pandemic, is now being attacked by the rabid Trump pit bulls.

We have been for more than a week in a lot of places.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

Oh, when we all get mad and want to protest, say If we're under house arrest 4 months from now still, some states are gearing up to make sure that's a crime.

Apparently these states are targeting fossil fuel protests (which is horrifying in it's own way) but I can see similar measures all over the place. You know, cuz you can't tell fire in a yadda yadda yadda...

It says protests but talks about destruction of property.  Destruction of property is not a good way to protest.  They are not limiting a right to assembly are they?  Just harsher crimes for vandalism?

Yeah that was my read on it also and energy is critical so it seems pretty reasonable

I was just going to post that same article. Now some in the far right think Dr. Fauci is part of the "deep state" opposing Trump? Sounds like the same people who thumbed up Trish Regan talking about the "coronavirus impeachment scam".

Sorry... these laws that seek to make it illegal to protest pipelines have been around for a couple years. The one I posted shows states trying to ram them through and give tighter enforcement. That wasn't a great story explaining it.

That's one of a bunch that goes into the first amendment concerns.

The virus is not Trump's fault

The response, or better yet lack of one, is. He owns that.

How about your hero Coumo why didn’t he shut everything down sooner? Keep playing the blame game while people die you ass. There will be plenty of time for that later.
