Football Schedule Being Released Today

Recommended Posts

Will they be releasing the Boise schedule separately?

In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

ESPN will be doing a 15 minute special from the Blue Turf during primetime Sportscenter.  Herbie is rumored to be the host.

Here's Nevada's:

Who knows what our team will look like next year, but the possibility is definitely there for it to be a special year for us. We have 4 winnable OOC games, 10 returning starters on offense (6 on defense), and 4/6 schools in our division are replacing their coaches. Hopefully this is the year we make the conference championship game.

Nevada football's 2020 schedule

August 29: vs. UC Davis

Sept. 5: at Arkansas

Sept. 12: vs. UTEP

Sept. 19: at South Florida

Sept. 26: vs. San Diego State

Oct. 3: at Hawaii

Oct. 10: Bye

Oct. 17: at New Mexico

Oct. 24: vs. Fresno State

Oct. 31: vs. Utah State

Nov. 7: at San Jose State

Nov. 14: vs. Wyoming

Nov. 21: Bye

Nov. 28: at UNLV

Expect some of the scheduled games to be moved to Friday once the networks get involved.  CBS and Fox can get up to 10, and so far only BYU/Boise is scheduled for Friday 11/6 on FS1.

Boise State "haters" might be VERY happy after the 2020 season is over.  I can see as many as SEVEN losses on this 2020 Boise State football schedule.  Not saying they WILL lose that many but there are (at least) seven POSSIBLE losses on this schedule:

1. AT Air Force

2. Home vs. Florida State

3. AT Marshall  (Boise State beat Marshall at home in Boise in 2019 by a score of 14-7)

4. Home vs. Utah State (after the BYE week)

5. AT Hawaii

6. Home vs. B.Y.U.

7. AT Wyoming

I don't think you can ask for a more favorable conference schedule setup. No Donkeys or Air Force and pretty much all of our road games are winnable. Not that we're good enough to win them all, but if we don't contend in the West with that schedule and all our returning starters on offense, then it will be a disappointment.

Well shit, we start against 2 different option offenses before FSU in Boise...

More worried about late November in Wyoming.

8. Georgia Southern plays a type of triple option and knocked off #18 App State last year.

9. San Jose State put up 42 points on us last year.  Plus they have an SEC starting QB coming in to take the place of Love so no dropoff.

10. UNLV with Arroyo should be a force.  They return basically all their offensive production and will be able to score.

11. New Mexico.  Rocky Long is good at stopping Boise.

12. Colorado State. Boise lost by 7 (31-24) last year when they were unmotivated.  Look for them to be competitive in 2020.

@tailingpermit is right.  Word on the street is the team equipment semi is on its way to San Jose to pick up their excess lube.

I'm not gonna' make any predictions at this time, but it is favorable that our last four conference games are the four toughest on the schedule and the first four should be the four easiest.  That gives a team a chance to better absorb the new systems, playbook, etc.  I can't make a guess on W/L's for the first four, but they definitely don't scare me as much as the back half.

Colorado State Schedule

Sept. 5 – Colorado
Sept. 12 – at Oregon State
Sept. 19 – Northern Colorado
Sept. 26 – at Vanderbilt
Oct. 3 – Fresno State*
Oct. 10 – New Mexico*
Oct. 24 – at UNLV*
Oct. 31 – Wyoming*
Nov. 7 – at San Diego State*
Nov. 14 – at Air Force*
Nov. 21 – Utah State*
Nov. 28 – at Boise State*
