Corona Virus - How bad is it going to be?

You really should take it up with the Utah Health Department.  But let me point out the flaws in your incredibly inane logic.  First, lower age groups do not have a case rate anywhere near the general populace.  In addition to that, the precautions taken in the schools are above and beyond what you’ll find in the general populace.  The only person here shocked the rates are lower is you.  There aren’t that many active cases in the schools here in Utah.  The data supports that.  It’s not a significant contributor to spread here.  But like I said...  take it up with the health department who has been telling us for months that schools aren’t main drivers of disease spread here in the state.  I’m sure they’d appreciate hearing all about how you have a better pulse on the situation from your potato oasis in Idaho.

It’s okay to be semi-illiterate in the language of basic math and numbers. It’s also fine to be unable to handle nuance in phenomenon. I guess it’s okay to accept data from authority if that’s in the local cultural wheelhouse.  Lacking cleverness isn’t a sin so there’s that, too.

I agree, and don’t hold it against you.

I’m not sure if doing numbers works for some folks here.

Good point.  Everybody has different learning styles.  Lets try some visual learning.  If you lined up 300,000 dead head to toe it would stretch 313 miles assuming an average height of 5'6.  That would be a line of dead people head to from Boise to the suburbs of Salt Lake City.

No biggie.

Dammit now I’ve gotta do mental math. No paper allowed. That’s 1.65m’. Now the hard part.

Ok. 10m is 52,800’ so 10m is 528,000’.  300m is 1.584m’. Ok, you close enough.

I agree...  you’re a perfect example.  You know what they say about those who can’t do...

I don't know.  Those moms who teach step daughters to please their boyfriends on pornhub seem pretty damn good at it.
