JFC - you can't lay ALL of this at Trump's feet.  Yes, he's made some errors but he has done some things right.   The only person I can think of, that may have had a better grip on this is Maddog.  A lot of this is like military strategy.  Do you blame Trump when you can't take a dump in the morning???

That's fair Cuomo is at least as bad.

I get the feeling Retro puts a Trump mask on in the bedroom and asks his wife to +++++ him in the ass with a strap-on so "Trump knows what it feels like".

Even guys as debauched as joe can't help but imagine that someone, somewhere is having hotter sex than they are

I just wish he’d take responsibility sometimes and not always try to take the credit. A good leader takes responsibility sometimes even when it’s not his fault.

The problem is Trump has no idea how to lead, hell he can’t even delegate correctly. The best thing he could’ve done once he formed his Corona Task Force would’ve been to get out of the damn way and let Pence run the show.

It's really not surprising. Reagan won 2 terms after all. So did GWB for that matter.

Reagan found ways to work with the other side unlike Trump. Reagan had his faults but the man was a leader. It also didn’t hurt that he could form coherent sentences.

Seems to be right in the middle. But my point was France, Italy, and Spain have been hit extremely hard. I’m not trying to make this into a political statement about how good or bad the US is.

given the last couple elections I'd argue that it probably did hurt

Reagan and Obama were the best speakers of all the Presidents during my lifetime. I was born in 1965 so my memory of LBJ is little to none, so Im comparing them from Nixon to Trump. Reagan and Obama blow the others out of the water.

I liked the first Bush.   He was calm, decisive and thoughtful.   His rhetoric wasn't soaring but his calmness and basic honesty would have been good in times like this one.  I think he was a much better leader than for which he is given credit.

That’s a great take, and I agree.

I think a far more interesting chart would be hospitalizations or deaths per capita.  Just charting cases does not tell you a whole lot, given no country really has a handle on how many folks have actually caught the thing.  *edit*Just saw the numerator changed.

Quote

Most coronavirus patients who end up on ventilators go on to die, according to several small studies from the U.S., China and Europe.

And many of the patients who continue to live can't be taken off the mechanical breathing machines.

"It's very concerning to see how many patients who require ventilation do not make it out of the hospital," says Dr. Tiffany Osborn, a critical care specialist at Washington University in St. Louis who has been caring for coronavirus patients at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

...

The largest study so far to look at mortality among coronavirus patients on ventilators was done by the Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre in London. It found that among 98 ventilated patients in the U.K., just 33 were discharged alive.

It also has a lot to do with culture. Americans are an independent people, many of whom don’t want to take orders from government. We are also not communist where the government can take total control and force its will. We’ve been hit really hard in the population center of New York, but take that out of the equation and our death rate would be one of the lowest in the world.

Personally as a people I think we’ve handled this well.

I heard someone in a press conference last night talk about how countries are counting deaths.  In the U.S., she said anyone who dies and has COVID-19 is counted as a COVID-19 death.  Her opinion is that not all countries are as liberal in how they count.  Someone who has heart disease and COVID-19 and has a heart attack, might be counted as a heart disease death and not COVID-19.  Really hard to know how that would impact things, but this pops up in other categories when comparing U.S. deaths, by cause, to other countries.

I read nitric oxide has been thought to be an effective treatment or therapeutic.  L-Arginine supplements help increase this too.  If I get it I’m going to start doubling down on my L-Arginine Plus powder... don’t have any need for Viagara like some of the old fuddy duddies on this board so it’s not readily available to me.  :P

I used to take that stuff all the time back in the day. It has a fun side-effect that the ladies seem to love. (At least the cool ones do.)

I hear frontline healthcare workers are about to get taken advantage of on wages.

How are they being taken advantage of.  Employer doesn't need them and the revenue stream that pays them has dried up.  Nobody should be guaranteed a job.
