Well, to begin with, a quarter of them are our fellow Americans. And then there's the ridiculously poor logic. Let me play. The +/-200,000 Japanese killed in Nagasaki and Hiroshima only constituted .26% of their entire population. So what's the big deal about nuking a city or two? And for that matter, there were a total of 85 million deaths resulting from WW2. That was only 3.4% of the world's population. Big f*cking deal, right? Lastly, there's the fact we are nowhere near the end of this pandemic. Check back with me in a year and let's see what the global death total is from COVID.

UNLV2001
RIP Buddy: The first dog to test positive for the coronavirus in the U.S. has died If we’re still learning about how the coronavirus spreads among humans, and why some people get so much sicker than others — then we’ve barely scratched the surface with what it does to pets. While the number of animals infected worldwide remains relatively low, the first U.S. dog to test positive for SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19, has sadly died. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/rip-buddy-the-first-dog-to-test-positive-for-the-coronavirus-in-the-us-has-died-2020-07-31?mod=nicole-lyn-pesce&link=sfmw_tw

East Coast Aztec
Recent study by Duke Medical shows the varying degrees of effectiveness of face coverings. Sorry, cool kids, bandanas and fleeces suck. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/neck-gaiters-may-actually-increase-covid-19-transmission-study-finds-183034882.html Quote The analysis, carried out by researchers at Duke University School of Medicine, relied on an “optimal measurement method” that uses a laser beam and cellphone camera to track the number of droplets that emerged from an individual while he or she wore a mask. Of the 14 masks, the two that proved least effective were a bandanna and what the researchers refer to as a neck fleece, also known as a neck gaiter. The most secure mask, an N95, led to a droplet transmission of below 0.1 percent. But handmade cotton and polypropylene masks, some of which were made from apron material, also proved effective, with droplet transmission ranging from 0.1 percent to 0.4 percent. One mask, which was knitted, released a higher number of droplets, from 0.1 percent to 0.6 percent. But none of the masks compared with the neck fleece, which had 110 percent droplet transmission (10 percent higher than not wearing a mask). This table lists the investigated face masks, mask alternatives, and mask material (masks are depicted in Fig. 1). Masks marked with an asterisk (*) were tested by four speakers, all others by one speaker. Mask, Name Description 1, ‘Surgical’ * Surgical mask, 3-layer 2, ‘Valved N95’ N95 mask with exhalation valve 3, ‘Knitted’ Knitted mask 4, ‘PolyProp’ 2-layer polypropylene apron mask 5, ‘Poly/Cotton’ Cotton-polypropylene-cotton mask 6, ‘MaxAT’ 1-layer Maxima AT mask 7, ‘Cotton2’ 2-layer cotton, pleated style mask 8, ‘Cotton4’ 2-layer cotton, Olson style mask 9, ‘Cotton3′ 2-layer cotton, pleated style mask 10, ‘Cotton1’ 1-layer cotton, pleated style mask 11, ‘Fleece’ Gaiter type neck fleece 12, ‘Bandana’ * Double-layer bandana 13, ‘Cotton5′ * 2-layer cotton, pleated style mask 14, ‘Fitted N95’ N95 mask, no exhalation valve, fitted ‘Swath’ Swath of mask material, polypropylene ‘None’ * Control experiment, no mask

Take a sip out of your Corona, then fill the bottle near top with Citrus flavored Vodka, add a lime wedge, put thumb over the opening, tip it upside down and back over to mix, then ready to drink. Not a lot of protests there Quote Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.
