How were you able to change your reply without the edit stamp showing? Do you have mod access?

Any way, I empathize with grocery/retail store workers. I am sure while they are grateful to be working, it must be excruciating to have to go to work if your boss or corporate office not practicing best support for its front-line workers. As I said in the original reply, I hope local PH departments are monitoring stores. We have to keep essential grocery/retail staffs healthy and safe.

I agree with @DoubleBlueGold, I hope to God that Big Brother is monitoring things.  Those capitalist bastards in management might take advantage.

Historically, "Big Brother" has had to protect workers from "those capitalist bastards in management".

That’s stupid. We’ll take them. We reuse our n95s after running them through the UV sterilizer. As far as the anti hydroxy chloroquine sentiment among some, I’d venture to guess that the vast majority of doctors would take it for them and their families.

  • Shi Zhengli, a virologist known as China's 'Bat Woman', sequenced the genes of the novel coronavirus in three days but her findings were supressed
  • Their findings showed it was similar to SARS, a respiratory disease that sparked an epidemic in 33 countries after emerging from China in 2002
  • Yanyi Wang, director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, sent an email to staff and key officials ordering them not to disclose information on the disease

Interesting article on Doctors and wages.   The private hospitals which have to show a quarterly profit are struggling.   The performance of these institutions in a pandemic is sure to add fire to the healthcare debate.

Wasn't it Reagan that allowed for hospital to be profitable at all?   Seem to remember they were all non profit before that.

Which is weird since her finding in no way indicated a Chinese designed virus

That's because surgeries and procedures have been suspended in many places and cases.

The majority of ID specialists or immunologists I speak with or read about disagree with hydroxychloroquine as a therapy right now. I feel the only ones that would take it without more evidence are ones in other scopes of practices like family practice or dermatologists.

I'm just glad the Colorado BOP put out strict guidelines on its use to prevent these doctors from writing these rxs for themselves and their families.

I agree that there should be restrictions on the personal prescriptions. Sure you read the non clinical people discuss the academic reasoning. For most doctors, if something has proven relative safety and you're willing to prescribe for malaria or lupus, then you're willing to prescribe for Covid. That said, most frontline doctors  that have used it say don't expect miracles. Works for some at certain stages of infection and not so good for others.
