By your logic saying someone shouldn’t be free to shoot you also isn’t a problem. There is nothing in libertarianism that gives you the right to put others knowingly at risk. Billings
Good article on modeling the hospitalization and death rate in Cali and Washington. Seems the governors were smart to shut it down so early. https://www.kcra.com/article/researchers-predict-california-peak-covid-19-cases/31984677

It’s not him whose logic is off. The basis of Libertarianism is you should be free to do what you like as long as it does impact others. Libertarianism is not anarchy and you often cross that line. In the time of a pandemic approaching others who may well be at risk puts them at risk and is the opposite of libertarianism as the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is the most fundamental right of all. We have a guy going on and on about how the CDC is incompetent, and then like five posts later he's touting the CDC as experts because they said something he agrees with. The best part though... that's honestly just the tip of the iceberg. Is this on the Barkboard Retro?

Here is Cato’s view https://www.cato.org/blog/libertarianism-coronavirus-pandemic Cato represents one brand of libertarianism. There are plenty of anarchists who essentially function as libertarians. 1 Quote Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

sandiegopete
It is just going to get worse. The Administration has shown that it is incapable of dealing with any real crisis, even when having adequate warnings. What, exactly, did the Administration do after it received this report: https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mitigating-the-Impact-of-Pandemic-Influenza-through-Vaccine-Innovation.pdf Nothing except try to get Michael Flynn's sentence low. That was the only priority. 1
