Games like this can really do wonders for next seasons hopes and beyond. Imagine what a consistently good shooting and defensive team would do to this conference.

Awesome game by the Rebels.  They are a hard out if they play like this.  Can they sustain this level of play against SDSU this weekend?  It will be interesting to see.  Still, good to see the Rebels playing well with 3 games to go in the regular season.

The UNLV men's basketball team dominated Colorado State on Tuesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center on its way to an 80-56 victory.

Sophomore guard Bryce Hamilton led all players with 25 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the year. Senior guard Elijah Mitrou Long added 16 points for UNLV (14-14, 9-6), while junior guard Amauri Hardy scored 11. Hamilton (11 of 18) and Mitrou-Long (7 of 12) combined to shoot 18 of 30 (60 percent), while Hardy (6, 1) and Mitrou-Long (6, 2) combined for 12 assists and just three turnovers.

The Rams (18-10, 9-6) were led by Nico Carvacho's 16 points on 6 of 9 shooting, and eight rebounds.

THE TURNING POINT: Trailing by two early (9-7), UNLV used a 16-1 run to take a 23-10 lead just over eight minutes into the game. The Runnin' Rebels increased their lead to 22 at the half (51-29) and led by as many as 35 over the final 20 minutes.

STATS OF THE GAME: UNLV made 9 of 15 3-pointers in the first half (60 percent) and held a 25-9 rebound advantage at the break. The Runnin' Rebels shot 55.9 percent overall from the field in the first half (19 of 34).

MARGIN OF VICTORY: The 24-point win was UNLV's largest margin of victory this season, besting its 21-point win vs. New Mexico on Jan. 18 (99-78).

QUOTABLE: "Proud of our guys for a terrific defensive effort against a really good offensive team. They were focused, they were intentional. Did a great job on that end of the floor, which led to us getting out in transition in that first half. I thought our guys did a great job sharing the basketball. It was probably our most complete game of the year." - UNLV head coach T.J. Otzelberger
