Stets, KHG and Harrington will almost certainly be our interior linemen with Holliday being first guy off the bench for either one of those 3 the way Stetz was used this year.  That's an upgrade right there IMO.  Ojukwu will be a year older and stronger.  LT will be hard to replace.

I would assume Ojukwu will slide to LT. Curran will likely be the starter at RT, unless Leong can come in and win it. Boise hasn't done very well with JC OL for quite some time, so I assume that won't happen. They'll have two decent looking prospects coming off RS years at OT as well.

We lose a lot on the lines but have recruited very well.  Dimitri Washington is a very physically gifted pass rusher that will average about a sack a game as a starter, he was more effective than Weaver at the end of the season.  Cravens will be an upgrade from Moa, who never regained the step he lost due to injuries.  Scale is a monster.  The O-line is more of a concern than the D-line but RG and Center will see an upgrade, Ojukwu will be better at RT with another year of strength training, and our LG and LT were far from 100% most of the year so the actual drop off there will be minimal.  O-line coaching has some worried though.

Boise looks loaded at the skill positions with high end P5 talent.  If the O-line can pull off average we win the conference.

Moa's injury was particularly devastating. An achilles injury is tough for anyone to come back from, let alone a defensive lineman.

If the offensive line plays at a similar level, the conference is BSU's to lose. I wouldn't mind seeing an impact grad-transfer at LB either

Very sad.  He likely plays in the NFL has that injury not happen.  He was not the same explosive player anymore.  Still, to his credit he got very strong and was great against the run.  It will be nice though to get a puss rush again on occasion from the position.

Freudian slip???? Although a puss rush does sound quite interesting...

Rocky quitting is great news for Sears. He might actually get to throw the ball now. But there is no question that the defense will take a hit. Rocky is one of the best defensive coaches in the country, plus they lose three 1st team All MW players on defense.

Just wait until they announce the new DC...you may recognize him...

Boise hasn't lost to a Mountain Division team since 2016.  There's no way they aren't the preseason favorite in the division.  Especially considering the offensive weapons that return - while Wyoming loses it's top 3 tacklers (who combined for 300+ tackles) and AFA loses most of its defense.

The SDSU pick is all due to the feeling that Sears (Preseason MWPOY?) and the new staff is going to turn around the offense and keep the defense elite.  Can they do that without Rocky?

Rocky will be the DC and lb coach.

No worries.

They will be replaced by 3-4 all MW defensive performers.

It's what they do.

It appears Long is considering the job, but he is not immediately inclined to take it because of other potential opportunities.

Among the schools looking for a defensive coordinator that could target Long are Baylor, Mississippi State, New Mexico, USC and Washington State.

Rocky and his wife have been in Albuquerque for a few days. Our HC has asked him if he wants a job but Rocky told him it's your time and he did not say what his plans are, he is retired for now.
