We shall see. I'll be shocked if he's a first rounder. He was a total non factor in the bowl loss to Washington

Wyoming beats Boise this year if not for Weaver.  We had no answer for him.

BTW, McShay has him going #20 overall in his latest rankings and Kiper has Weaver as the #2 OLB prospect. But who are those guys.

I haven't seen a mock draft in months that didn't have him in the 1st round

As opposed to the rest of the team?

As to when he is drafted, who knows. Most of the time guys move all over once the actual evaluations begin.

Poor Bob, hate makes it hard for him to see.   Don't be like Bob.  Bob isn't aware that pass rush specialists are in demand in the NFL.

If Bob would listen you could tell him that NFL scouts, not agents, are talking to Weaver.  And after talking to them, and not Bob, he's leaving.

He's a tweener. What position will he even play?

At 6'3" 265. He's no where near a "tweener." He's actually an "either." He could play both OLB in a 3-4 just as easily as a DE in a 4-3. The last three players to play the STUD position at Boise got drafted in the 1st, 2nd (almost 1st), 2nd rounds. Two were drafted as DEs in 4-3s. Weaver is bigger than all three of them. Hell, D Law just signed a $20+m a year contract and he was only 250# coming out of college.

You clearly know nothing.

Which scheme is best for him? 4-3 or 3-4?

There are only two things I can't stand in this world: people who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

I don't know. He technically played in a 3-4 at Boise, but he's a natural pass rusher. I would assume he'll go to a 4-3 defense, but he could play both.

Good luck to the kid.   He had some games he looked like a dominant defensive man.   I think he was pretty banged up this year at times too?  That might be what bob was seeing.

Bob did you see Jordan Love is shown as high as #16 in Draft this year?  Most likely round 2-3 unless senior bowl is huge success and NFL day.

Shea was a complete bust, which is amazing being that he moved from a fifth round to a first round pick because of senior bowl and combine achievements.

It was strange that he got drafted into a 4-3. Most thought he'd be an OLB on a 3-4. He did eventually move to LB and won a Super Bowl with the Patriots

Exactly. I thought the Bears misused Shea at DE. He should have been at OLB occasionally rushing the QB. Regarding Weaver, he was injured in the New Mexico game and wasn’t the same after that. Plus, a lot of teams were double teaming him. He’s going to make a lot of money in the NFL.

Yes.

Goan be a rebuilding year for Boise in 2020.

Both lines are, but the rest of the team is set up. The interior DL looks pretty set. The outside, not so much. Not sure who is going to play DE. A lot of talent out there, but not much experience. Demitri Washington, as a FR, had a good year playing behind Weaver at the STUD. He had 4 1/2 sacks in limited playing time, ranking 3rd on the team in that category. They also get Sam Whitney back. He actually started over Weaver two years ago until getting injured 5 games into the season and blowing an ACL last year in spring ball. Not going to be as dynamic, as Weaver is a 1st round talent, but they will be solid at the STUD.

OL will likely struggle... but it has for the last three years and the team still has three Division Championships and two League Titles. The last time Boise lost four off the OL, the line struggled big time early in the season. But they started to come together mid-season and won the League. Difference back then was that none of the new starters had any starting experience and three of them had never played a D-1 college snap before. At least this year there is significantly more experience than that team. Three of the likely starters had multiple starts this past year. They also get Donte Harrington back from injury who entered the prior season as a co-starter. I expect that they'll struggle early and figure it out mid-season... which has been the pattern.

Can't struggle anymore than our "experienced" line has the last two years. Hopefully those coming in have the capacity to learn and grow unlike most of those that are departing.

Weaver would do best where he isn't the focus of the blocking. If he can get some 1-on-1 blocks, he'll do fine at the next level.

From scouting reports that I've read, he has great technique but could use more physicality. Maybe that's something he can improve on in the pros.

That said, I didn't think as much of DeMarcus Lawrence prior to his draft as I think of Curtis Weaver. It's kind of a crap shoot who will take that next step.
