10 Anniversary of Realignment.

It was 10 years ago that the Big 10 started the realignment craze.  The link shows a timeline if events for the past 10 years.

The SEC paved the way for realignment by expanding to 12-teams in 1991 and petitioning the ncaa for the ability to hold a championship game and thereby getting permission to hold a 13th game which previously was not allowed.  The Big 8 continued the process by raiding the SWC to create the Big 12 in 1996.  Sure, the Big 10 kicked off the most recent round of realignments but at it's heart the SEC is to blame!  Yet another reason to despise the SEC.  :pitchforks:

What the +++++. Better than most. A lot better than CSU.

its great when your fanbase bitches about a bowl season and 2 wins over ranked teams.

Damn blessed if that is your bad years.

Huge amount of Penis envy around this place.

When this ends BYU is in trouble.

3 teams left, those 3 teams revenue has skyrocketed. Utah made 1 million more than BYU last year. Big deal.

Perhaps athletic envy, but I will leave Penis envy to those who worry about that.

It’s funny when your bowl game is vs the conference you left.

You're saying it doesnt get cold for BYU as an independent?

Does the NWS know?

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Of course it gets cold.

BYU has played FCS schools in November with quadruple that attendance.

CSU was hosting top 25 Boise

This was an excellent season for them.Over the next two seasons, 7-5 will feel like heaven for Cougar Nation. My personal over/under for next season is four wins. That's right 4.

Drop in on the Cougar Board in early October next year. They will be organizing the tar and feather/pitchfork mobs and calling for Sitakis' head on a spike. It will be great entertainment.

Then you will have the apologists saying, "I'd rather have this schedule than play in the MW."

CU really didn't have much of a choice when it came to joining the Pac-10 versus staying in the Big 12.  You got to go to where the alumni (and their money) are at.  If it was my choice, CU would have stayed along with Nebraska or even followed Nebraska to the Big Ten.  Heck, I'd have stayed at eight members in the old Big 8 if I had that choice too.

Utah is the biggest winner in all of this while their rival is the biggest loser in all of this.
